Deck Description

A BUG Mid-range deck. Using hard to get rid of creatures like Prognostic Sphinx, Reaper of the Wilds, and Desecration Demon, to deal some damage. Using removal to deal with obstacles in the way.

Used to be 4 Jace, but took out 2 for 2 prophet. I liked the idea of Prophet, but could prove too easy to kill and screw me over in the end, just testing.

The sideboard looks okay, but it can use improvement.

This is shown as the deck really is, though I'd rather have the following changes that I simply don't have access to:

2 Thoughtseize over duress'
2 Sylvan Caryatid over Mystics
1 Heroes Downfall Over 1 Putrefy

------------

The deck as is still has done pretty well with the testing I've been able to do.

2-0 vs Monoblue Devotion
2-0 vs Monogreen Devotion

How to Play

All of our creatures don't die unless the opponent commits to it.

Removal gets rid of creatures like Blood Baron (Hybridization) or even a whip with putrefy. Abrupt Decay hits some big things like NightVeil Specter and Detention Sphere or Boros Reckoner.

Lifebanes are there to pick at hands or to judge whats coming, all the while getting hits in if the opponent doesn't have the black.

Vraska and Jace for just being good dudes. 2 prophets came in over 2 Jaces because I wanted to see how they do, they untap our stuff each turn. It untaps our underworld connections, allows for flash creatures and for playing removal the moment we need it.

Prognostic even has a cute synergy with underworld in allowing us to pick and choose whatever card we want to draw from 3 off the top. Reaper of the wilds has some of that as well, though not as crazy.

Deck discussion for Standard BUG MidRange

Looks really solid, I love the use of prognostic sphinx with connections. Might be a good idea to try and squeeze ultimate price into the sideboard somewhere. :)

I'm working on a completely different BUG strategy in standard. If you have the time, let me know what you think. :)

Thanks, BUG is my favorite to play with, and with monoblue and black being as they are it doesn't look good for other fun decks. Was hoping to create something solid that could hold its own and still be cool to play with. Thanks for the suggestion, I actually hadn't thought of ultimate, I think I'm way too hooked on all the multicolor craziness that was Ravnica 0_o

Yeah I know what you mean about the multicolored stuff. I just love how easily ultimate price takes care of polukranos, desecration demon, master of waves, etc.
