Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This deck is a 2 phase plan for FNM. You start off with a decent aggro deck, hopefully pull off a win and off not, oh well. Then the second game comes and you use your sideboard. If your playing a midrange or control deck they are now side boarding to counter your aggro style. So you take out all the aggro and replace it with burn. Still pretend like your running aggro but with a bad hand or something and continue to burn the crap out of them with the occasional Boros Reckoner or Hellrider in there. Assemble the legion (not sure if I really like that in there) can also help blow their mind.
So yeah, thats it. tell me what you think about the deck and how to make it better, thanks!

How to Play

I also need some help making the aggressive part of the deck more aggressive, any creature suggestions to help (and burn suggestions too) would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty cool idea, but the biggest problem is that if you go with the whole "My hand is horrible" strategy than any opponent who is even a little decent will take advantage of that. They'll start playing a lot more aggressively and won't let you burn them to death after they figure your ruse out, and if you lost game 1, even if you win game 2, game 3 will be a very bad match-up for you. It's way too gimmicky to be a viable option.

Why is game 3 destined to be bad? I mean thats when you sideboard to whatever you know will work best, so you should be doing pretty swell with your deck. And bonfire is a great idea, thanks i always forget that one.

Oh yeah, Bonfire of the Damned is a great option. Especially after you wear your hand out and go into top decking mode.

Odric is REALLY good with his Battalion effect, a lot of people don't know but you can swing in their face and choose no blockers. And if the aggro doesn't work I would add an Aurelia or Gisela.

I'd get rid of your Pilgrim, he just doesn't work in an aggro deck. Also Rally the Peasent's is really expensive in an aggro deck.

As much as I love Odric (I've built my standard deck around him) I think Firemane Avenger fits your decks theme better, it works for both aspects of your deck.

One thing i found out is that pilgrim and rally the peasants actually won me (in combination with silver blade paladin) 3 of my matches against other aggro decks. turn 3 have 2 2/2 double strike lifelink blockers, turn 4 swing with them, if they say they will take 8, rally so it turns into 16 and you gain that much life. (plus at instant speed with a flashback it can come out of nowhere.)

I do think you guys are pretty right about odric for this deck though, without lightning mauler in the deck he's too easy to deal with. I just need a little while to think which guy to replace him with.

I would replace the Pilgrim, its use for the infinite life combo is to circunstancial to rely on that to give you the win. Also Odric seems to be just in case, and I am not a fan of the single copies. I would replace both of them with an agressive 2 drop (wojek Albardiers or Purefire Paladin - 2 or 3 of those guys). If you could add an extra Medic, do it, in my experience using it, rocks.
Finally, I would replace the Rally the Peasants with the Legion Initiative. Cheaper, permanent buff and also might save your creatures if you don't have a charm in hand.
Besides that, nice deck. If you can check my modern Battlecry deck, wich I am using and willing to improve (but it seems to be working by now!).

So for cards to take out (I forgot to mention this) I would replace the champions, elites, odric, front lines, and legion loyalist with the sideboard. does that sound reasonable?
