The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Wait, wait, wait, wait. You're gonna go to 8 mana with 20 lands? And here I was thinking there are no more dreamers.

The main plan is to use Dark Supplicant to summon Scion of Darkness, rather than actually cast it, but yeah I agree it is a bit tight.
they dont plan on casting it with mana. they're going to use the other cleric that sacs 3 creatures to summon it.
Yeah, getting to 5 with a 20 land deck is ambitions
I like it!I have a couple of thoughts: In my scion deck variant (which is below) I run Blood Celebrant and 2 Vivid Marsh to cover the possibility of stealing something with Scion of Darkness with an activated ability or extra cost that requires colored mana.I also run 2 Reanimate as an alternate way to play Scion for cheap. If you cycle him you can then play him for one from the graveyard. Losing the 8 life isn't awesome but having the alternate option for getting him into play can be key. (I also run a few Vampire's Bites to provide some limited big one-hit life gain to help offset that.) It might mess with your budget somewhat but it is worth thinking about. Here's mine for comparison/inspiration:https://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/one-mana-series-black/Enjoy your deck!
Yeah your deck's pretty cool, but reanimate is too expensive. Vivid Marsh is a good idea though, so thanks for the idea. I might use Reanimate later, but for this version of the deck I probably won't.Just as a completely unrelated question: Should I take out a couple of Altar's Reap for Underworld Connection? They are both nice card draw effects. Underworld Connections is more consistent - as you can activate it lots of times - but Altar's Reap triggers Midnight Reaper and Rotlung Reanimator. So what is the best option?
Might be worth play-testing. I personally would prefer to keep the Altars Reap, mostly because of the instant speed. I like playing it in reaction to removal, or at the end of my opponents' turn, etc. But it might be worth trying the Underworld Connections especially if you play lots of multiplayer and tend to have longer games where the consistent draw would pay off more. Also you might consider a more budget card that could return Scion to play. (Also, I think you can get Reanimate for around $7.00 or less these days depending on which printing and condition. Still might be too rich for what you want but its definitely less than when I bought mine.) Some other cheaper options that come to mind are Grim Return, Necromantic Summons, Endless Obedience, or perhaps Exhume.
Yeah I'll probably play test it, and edit it depending on how it plays out.
