Combo deck designed to go infinite turn four to deck with altar of the brood or a supercharged cornucopia into a fascination. With midnight guard and chief engineer in play drop Monastery mentor and retraction helix the guard. Keep dropping and returning a 0 value cornucopia untill you have enough tokens, tap them to convoke an immense cornucopia and tap that to power a fascination. Please can anyone help me make this more consistent and figure out the mana base.

Well consistency, I would try to do one thing.. either tokens or altar.. not both. Then you can include some more draw or control type cards. I would lean towards the tokens for mana, and possible use the new fate reforged card Fascination.. If you get the combo off, you can mill both of you, then pass turn. Otherwise you can use it to draw some cards for you to find missing pieces4 if it goes late.. yes it draws your opponent cards as well, but if you find your combo its is a moot point. As far as mana base, depending on budget, You NEED 4 flooded strand. That way you can fetch out lands, rather than draw them. You also probably want to run 4 of the U/W scry lands. but again. Budget may stop you here.

The problem with the tokens is I need the engineer to make it work which means any tap land slows the deck down a full turn. Fascinations a great idea though.
You can also do a 4x briber's purse for 4 more win cons (does the same as Astral Cornucopia)
Ornithopter?
Bribers purse doesn't supply mana like the cornucopia does however ornithopter would certainly alleviate the need for the monastery mentor if I was looking for the Altar of the brood win condition.
purse does to for the Altar win..
Ah I see what you mean. What would you suggest I swap out for it?
Very well put together. +1 from me
Thanks!! Any ideas on improvements?
"Please can anyone help me make this more consistent and figure out the mana base."You need no less than SIX cards in hand/play - among them three creatures (if the opponent can kill a single low toughness creature, you can't go off). I fear there is no way to make this more consistent - not within Type II and certainly not for turn 4!
For the cornucopia win condition yes but the altar of the brood condition needs just 4 and means more free mana. For that one all I need play out is the altar and the guard before I combo out, as I can play the remaining two cards both on turn four and nothing short of a counterspell can stop it (or that bloody hushwing!!).
"Just" four :)The probability to get TWO different cards that you have 4 copies of in your opening hand is a bit less than 20% ...but I see now that you dropped red and added more draw/search. And Ornithopter for that matter, didn't know that this guy was reprinted! The Thopter solves some issues because then you aren't dependant on the engineer anymore.
Yeah finding the engineer was a drag. I'm in the fence about taking the whole infinite mana route out all together and focussing on the altar of the brood idea.
