Hey guys, I'd love a bit of help with this deck. I didn't play any magic through the Shadowmoor phase so I wasn't aware of the whole persist mechanic until a few weeks ago. The idea started by thinking it would be hilarious to flash a worldspine worm on turn 2 for 3 5/5 tramples, after a little research into undying I thought persist would be much better. Infinate combo with Melira and a sac engine on the board. I'd say the deck is about 85% there and it's just in testing stage at this point. I would love some help with land distribution (they are made up of the lands I don't currently have in other decks) and a bit of mana ramp without affecting the overall concept of the deck.Ideally you win with a combo of sac engine, Melira and Murderous Redcap. You can always flash a clone shell into hopefully a beefy creature, flash a worldspine into tokens, a woodfall primus into board control.Grave pact I feel is the key here but the 3 black mana are killing me. I have a hard time getting it on the board, one it's there I can control big creature decks as well.Would love your overall thoughts and any ideas you may have to help fine-tune the deck.Peace,

Just in case you missed it, Persist has a more recent big bro called Undying, which means the creature comes back with a +1/+1 token instead of a -1/-1.

Thanks I was originally looking at undying, but there aren't many creatures that have effects when they enter or leave the battlefield (to my knowledge) and of course this is just for casual play with my friends. so not worried about tournament legal.
No problem dude. Have you thought about the Kamigawa Star Dragons? Keiga, The Tide Star etc (search "Dragon Spirit" for type and you'll see 'em)
Those are pretty awesome, thanks for the heads up.
Look into Oracle of Mul Daya for some extra land ramp. Its not much but it really helps. Granted I use it in my landfall deck but I can see it being effective here as well.
I like the flavour but I think at 4 mana it's just too expensive to play in this deck ( i know that makes no sense with all my huge creatures, but I'd rather be playing other cards in my deck with a 4 cmc)
Like I said it could help but just depends on what kind of options you want.
