Deck discussion for NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL B/U CONTROLL(standard)

this seems pretty soild. I love the control from card removal. Only thing sometimes that may help the other player. my Self Mill deck is based on creatures and spells in the grave yard. (check out the deck and like and comment it) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=324555

I would through some leaks maybe. but this deck seems pretty fun!

Very solid deck, so I can't really think of anything for you to sideboard but I did notice your deck is a bit on the slow side I think your sideboard would have to revolve around dealing with fast aggro decks like burn, humans, zombies or tokens.

the men are slow, but the deck showcases an impressive 22 pieces of varried removal and VERY fast hand discard(15 available including snapcasting ones in grave).

Yeah no one really thinks about playing self mill. but the build I made does awesome at FNM hahaha. Help me get the deck to the front page

This deck is pretty solid. The only thing that i can think of for your side board is maybe some extraction cards like Memoricide and Surgical Extraction or some bounce like vapor snag.

Control decks are fun..If you like making it so the other player cant play :)
I see no problems with this deck other than maybe adding an 'Isochron Scepter'.
otherwise it looks great. Very effective on creature removal.

Seems cool is it standard? If it is i would remove the fume spitter due to its unefficiency against the current meta. Against tokens 1 for 1 aint going to hurt them for they have anthem effects and loads of creatures as well as any beatdown deck. In the mirror fume spitter is simply a 1 one drop which in this deck does nothing as well. Try to replace with some other more efficient creature like the second Bloodgift Demon
If it isnt standard i would replace it with a single copy of Ob Nixilis, the Fallen.

yes sir, totally standard. as for the current meta 1 drops, i humbly disagree. allow me the oppertunity to list current relivant standard 1 drops(1 toughness) birds of paradise, grave crawler, stirmkirk noble, mana elf, signal pest, other fyume spitters..P, memnite, goblin fireslinger, phantasmal image, phantasmal bear...i think theres some im missing. even more importantly, it activates tragic slips morbid.

use shimmering groto in stead of evolving wilds

I have evolving for 2 reasons:1.) the most obvious, i can fish for an island for snappies if i dont have a catacomb. 2.) thins my deck by 2 cards. I like grotto alot, but the 1 mana would bring the tempo down to a little too slow IMO. Thank you for the imput.

I would take out the memoricide main board(since its a side board card) and add 1 bsz since they're always usefull

Im on the fence right now with memoricide. It is so damn disruptive for this kind of deck. Being able to remove geists, swords, snapcasters, inkmoths, counters all together is a real technology. Allow me the oppertunity to get some more time as deck pilot before i remove them. I LOVE bsz, and already have 1 mainboard. gotta test the waters of AVR decks before i make too many serious changes.

I know this is a silly question, but you're only splashing blue for snapcaster? I would either recommend adding in thought scours for some card draw / mill on your opponent, or cut the blue and add red for pillar of flame and red suns zenith. Your deck has outstanding removal, but will start to lag behind undying as you'll have to burn two spells to rid yourself of that pesky geralf's messanger. Just a thought. Also, any input on my deck would be appreciated! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=335771

Um... Perhaps you could do frightful delusion, or painful quandary? Or maybe parasitic implant? Would fit the removal theme, and gives you a small creature. Just some suggestions. Like the deck. :)
