Deck Description

A tezzeret aggro deck based around a deck of the same name that was lucky enough to make it to the front page of mtgvault.com before. this one also made it to the front page, and i thank you all for that. it means the world to me. :D

based off a very, VERY rough tezz aggro deck i made and played on cockatrice 2 days after i could play with it.
it's esper because in the current meta, i basically have to have pierce and inquisition. the mana is a little shaky at times, but mox opal helps, and if i don't have the double white then i can always play a tezz.

the key here is to try to play an inquisition t1, then unload if you can, and to hold open a blue mana for a day, also - don't over commit. in a deck this aggressive, no one expects a spell pierce on their day. revoke is MB against jace, obviously, but more importantly against gideon. he poses a HUGE threat to me. dealing with both is easy enough when i side in metamorphs for their batterskull if you didn't take it out, or against valakut's inferno titan or whatever. hex parasite is mean against jace, gideon, and karn, game 3 sometimes if they board in enough board sweepers etc, then pierce isn't enough, and you have to run negate. i also like duress as it grabs the board sweepers, the walkers, and the artifacts caw-blade runs around with. the doom blade + throat are for gideon and for the germ on batterskull. hex parasite + tempered steel also helps combat batterskull as i'll have more creatures so i can simply swing out more, and legionaire is nice for that too... hehe

anyways, enjoy! and thanks for putting my deck on the front page! :D

the MB is very aggro, but has some late game twists, and as long as you don't over commit to a day or something, the game is yours.

(but this was very wrong, and this is geared much more towards beating out caw-blade)

Great idea, I love aggro decks, and artifacts as well. The control seems to work really well too. I would add more Mana leaks though, because they're a really great card imo.

Maybe toss some prolif. in? Not sure what you'd take out, but it'll help ramp up Tezzi and would work great with Steel Overseer. Specifically, Inexorable would be nice with all of your little spells to keep you going if it lasts that long.

Thanks for the like, haven't really checked the new cards of phyrexian, maybe there's some good stuff for my deck aswel. Love the inquisition of Kozilek. Might put them in my own deck instead of the wall of omens. It might be more effective to take out weenies instead of just blocking em. Although I like the
card drawing abilities of the wall in combination with Venser … choices

Thanks for your comment. Nice deck. If I put together an artefact one, I'll use this as a start.

Since you're running Hex Parasite, I'm sure you're already aware of his strength.

However, I would strongly encourage you implement Mental Misstep into your sideboard so that you have a 'free' counter available for when your opponent puts one into play. You're not going to want to see Tezz implode the second he hits the table. And Misstep will be a hard counter for him where Leak might fail.

Hope this helps!

If you get a chance, I welcome any comments and criticism you can offer on any of the decks I have posted here on the site (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks!

I love Hex Parasite, it's definitely a Plainswalker slayer. Aggro style is my favorite, and signal pest isn't bad for a splash of battlecry. I'm just wondering if this deck is gonna run out of gas by turn 5-6

The deck looks great, I'd play one more tezzeret though, just to be shure you get him on the board asap. Hex parasite is going in my sideboard either way, great planeswalker slayer. Thanks for that tip. Why would you play mana leak when you can play stoic rebuttal? It's a hard counter for the same cost in your artifact deck …

well, first off all, 2 blue mana is rough in a 3 color deck, not to mention that by the time they play something i'm afraid of, AND have 3 mana open, i have already lost the game. but the idea of tezz is really just for a kill card, the deck certainly doesn't need him to win.

if i'm on the draw

t1 - 4 memnites, land, mox, 2 signal pests
t2 - plains, tempered steel

t2 - memnites swing for 5 each (1 + 2(tempered) + (2 battlecry), pests swing for 3 each (0 + 1 (other pest) + 2 (tempered). thats swinging for 20 + 6 = 26. PEWPEW!

Yo dude I really like this deck its giving me alot of ideas.......The only thing I see is that just having 3 plains and runnning Tempered Steel is ok but maybe you should put one more Tezz in there to get a better chance of getting him out. How about a myr battlesphere that card helped me win a out of games......Im just a tru U/B player thats the only color I play and I have been winning alot of FNM with that color...but if you ever get time take a look ay one of my decks anf like me know what you think........... http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=172964

I have a very similar deck. I run thopters and dispatch is amazing when you have pretty much instant metalcraft. I keep going back and forth on running contested warzone, so that's a thought to try.

preordain and/or Halimar depths would give you an edge up and alot of deck manipulation also spere of teh suns to get tezz out a turn sooner and fetching with him. Other than that looks like a promising deck. Might have to build it. Tezz's gambit is sooo broke in this deck. Let me tap overseer for +1 counters... gambit... all get another counter including tezz.. swing all out ultimate on tezz you lose WOOT!
check out my deck and tell me what ya think
