Looking good!.. My only other preference would be to add some card draw. Opt doesn't count as card draw remember as it just replaces itself with another card and you don't increase the card count in your hand. I personally would...-1 Spell Pierce (gets worse late game so more than one in hand is often not what you want)-1 Nicol Bolas, Dragon God (hard to cast so it's likely a dead card early game especially in multiples)-1 Scions (3 is a good number I feel and they can draw into the others)-1 Blood Crypt +1 Watery Grave (You need Blue more than you need Red early game if you want to cast Narset on T3)+3 Treasure Cruise (You are discarding a fair amount so may as well use that graveyard)I know you are reducing your fun card counts but you are actually increasing your chance of drawing them by adding Treasure Cruise to dig deeper.Like I said these are only my suggestions and what I'd do. It's up to you to play it and see how it performs and go from there. Thanks for sharing and good luck. ;)

It think you're on to a good start here but Liquimetal Coating isn't legal in Pioneer unfortunately. To be honest, I don't see the benefit to Karn at all here. His +1 does nothing as we don't run mainboard artifacts and what he fetches without Coating is all a bit meh.Fiery Temper with the discard package of The Royal Scions and JVP is quite good so I'd run Scions instead of Karn and consider Tempers. Also, with Oko, T3feri, JVP, Saheeli, etc.. all being quite prevalent, Dreadbore seems to be a must somewhere in the 75.Just my thoughts :)
Lol.. I've never forgotten about this Cruel Master of doom! I did start with Stitcher but I found that I wanted more targets for Alesha that impacted the board rather than fueled the plan. It was great on turn 1 but terrible in later turns when I wanted to reanimate a threat. I can see adding two back in place of the Rat which just eats removal every time. Also doing this will also balance my Mill vs discard effects but just never a fan of adding only 2.The burn match was not great hence the main Pulse but supplier might add some early blockers that fuel the plan as well, so I like that thinking actually. My last 3 burn matches I've won 2, lost one by boarding into slightly more removal but I am considering and extra Pulse in the board. Thanks for your suggestions.
Thanks. It's the same list I ran in Modern just without fetches. Oh and my brewers brain has gone into overload with Pioneer! So excited!
They are not legal (thank the lord).. best 1 cmc we have is Opt to my knowledge.
Great start here! If we are going 3 colours, I feel like we need Fabled Passage's though... Also I feel like Tireless tracker and maybe even Courser of Kruphix needs to be in this sort of deck but maybe not the Courser if you're focusing on counters.Keep up the great brewing!
Nothing beats a bit of mono Red! Love the ideas.. My immediate thoughts are that Legion Loyalist, Runaway Steamkin seam to be great and lets not forget Reckless Bushwhacker. The downside with red is we lose the one mana burn spells that modern has to offer so we need to be more creature based. Steamkin seems great as its more mana to use to cast more creatures later on. The card I feel you've overlooked here which works well with many creatures... Stoke the Flames! If you want to add green don't forget Atarka's Command. The alternate direction is to go Boros or even Jeskai for Boros Charm and Jeskai Charm and Mantis rider funs! OH lordy the ideas are making me tingle! (and my head hurt)Either way I think we need to find out the game plan first... Do we want to be super aggressive and deal as much damage as possible as quick as possible? - Then I suggest mono red with small hastey creatures early game moving to a stoke the flames burn strategy late game. Adding another colour could slow this plan down but at the same time give you a better mid to late game. At the end of the day I suppose the meta (once established) will dictate which strategy is more viable.Just my rambling thoughts so good luck with the build and I hope your head doesn't hurt as much as mine does. :)
Hahaha! Thanks! Exciting times for us brewers!
Great idea! Only allow decks that have a description to be made public. If I can't be bothered to comment on my own deck, then I can't complain that others can't be bothered either!
Hey Gary, long time no see since the Uni FNM days! I agree there needs to be more format separation on the site. I'm only interested in Modern (and now Pioneer which I'm looking forward to you adding btw! ;) ) so I feel my input and comments are more relevant to other modern decks. So I'm naturally going to look for decks of that format so it would be nice if this was made easier.
No! I think this is a very valid observation! Seeing that my deck has 15+ views and no likes or comments adds to that feeling that no one really cares what you have said or even acknowledged the time and effort you've put into creating a deck WITH a description. Knowing that your own views are up-ticking the view count is very relevant in ones own perception of this community. I agree this needs fixing as not everyone is going to read this decks comments! TL;DR as I'm told on other sites!
I agree with LordCinder here. With another 2 and the Leylines in the board it seems excessive to run two in the main as well! I'd rather play Desert Cerodon or even main the Fulminators in their place. I like the 6/4 body of a Cerodon personally.
No problem ;-)That looks pretty solid to me now.I play Grixis Improvise and play against this deck a lot when my friend and I test and Vraska is a nightmare! So hard to get rid of because she can protect herself in two ways 1) creating a blocker 2) killing a threat! He plays 2 Lifecrafter's Bestiary main and the 2 Journey's in the sideboard because people often side in more removal on game two so it's more relevant. Game one the card advantage of the Lifecrafter's Bestiary is usually more useful. This is just his choice and a little metagame dependant, but worth baring in mind.Glad I could help and good luck in your games.
Nice deck and my friend plays this. I would personally add 4 Glint-Sleeve Siphoner for card draw, Aether Hub to help it, 1 Hashep Oasis for extra damage, and 2 Ifnir Deadlands for extra removal. Not sure How Lilliana helps the deck so i would drop it and main the Vraska for game 1 artifact and enchantment removal. Also a 2/2 menace pirate is better than a 2/2 zombie that mills your very important cards!I'd remove:2 Overcome (too expensive for a sorcery and mana better spent expanding your board with creatures)1 Journey to Eternity (2 main is fine in my opinion especially with the added card draw from Siphoner)1 land (Deck runs well with 24 land)This will make space for the 4 Glint-Sleeve Siphoner which will add card draw and another menacing threat.Just my suggestions. :)
Thanks for the comment.. I've added it to the sideboard as an option to speed the deck up game 2. :)
Hi, thanks. The deck has been doing really well and went 5-0 on my first FNM. I've made some minor tweeks to the deck. I did consider wrangle but being sorcery I would almost never get to use it. If they curve into the combo (turn 3 saheeli, turn 4 Guardian) they win. Having an instand speed way to interact with the combo is key especially on the draw. Additionally, with shock I have more option to develop my board on turn 3 by having access to play my 1 & 2 drops and still leave protection for their turn 4 combo. Even more, shock is better against aggro. Thanks for the suggestion though. :-)
Excellent choice, didn't think of that. That's an old favorite of mine when I played Rakdos Control in standard. Maybe a Rogue's Passage to help get the damage through?
Nice deck. You have Angelic Arbiter twice though. Stormbreath Dragon or Restoration Angel maybe?
LOL... That's excellent... There is a lot of Tron in my local meta and it's the way I deal with Wurmcoil. My mate swung with 2 wurmcoils all cocky thinking he'd stabilize and I Palmed both!
Thanks... It's served me well so far and I love the Palms in the SB.
