Oh god what's he doing to that corpse-oh he's just transforming into a clone of it cool nice okay
Lazav being able to transform into any creature you have in your graveyard at instant speed is kinda crazy. Let's try and exploit the shit out of it. Lazav's main appeal is with a few combos he can pull off. The more creatures you have in your graveyard the better he can protect himself on the board and the easier it is to kill your opponents.Protection:Phyrexian Dreadnought, Hunted Horror: make Lazav a big beefy 12/12 for a single mana or a respectable 7/7 for 2 mana is pretty solid, and good for opponents trying to kill him with direct damage or if you need to block for some reasonYahenni, Undying Paragon: 3 sac a creature give Lazav indestructible until end of turn is pretty solid, especially since he can still transform into other creatures and keep the indestructibleWill-o'-the-Wisp, Mortivore: regenerate for the turn makes it even more annoying to kill LazavCavern Harpy, Mortus Strider: Emergency bounce if needed, better than being killed off and having to pay more and more commander taxDefense/Offense:Consuming Abberation, Mortivore, Nighthowler, Mindshrieker: Makes Lazav very large, very fast. Potentially bigger than Phyrexian DreadnoughtWall of Souls: Let Lazav bounce back a significant amount of damage if need beJodah's Avenger, Yahenni, Undying Paragon, Vector Asp, Slithering Shade: Gives Lazav something until end of turnCombos:Invisible Stalker/Etrata, The Silencer->Phage the untouchable or Vector Asp->Phyrexian Dreadnought: This is the ohko of the deck, make Lazav unblockable and either stink finger them with Phage or infect them in a way that would make Blightsteel Colossus proudEverything else in the deck is basically utility to get creatures into your graveyard, protect yourself and your graveyard from various things like removal and such. Cards of note are Phyrexian Dreadnought, Training Grounds and Heartstone. Heartstone make it so copying 1 2 and 3 mana creatures respectively instead cost 0. Phyrexian Dreadnought is such a good utility card for Lazav it's hard to ignore it, even for that pricetag.Suggestions as always are appreciated.
