I was half expecting, after reading "They aren't dead?", you to say "Put it in reverse." This looks like an awesome deck. It's fun, it's cheap, and its got an awesome name. 10/10 would play.

Just trying to clear things up: according to this deck, is Jesus a dwarf?

1

Not necessarily. Jesus may take the wheel if the Rapture hits during a race. Or, Jesus may be exhorting one of the dwarves to take the wheel, in which case the title may be punctuated improperly. Or, Jesus may have simply written the country song by the same name...which would make Jesus something of an egotist, I guess. The real question is, do we know, conclusively, whether Jesus was ever on Kaladesh? :)

Dwarfs out for Harambe?

*whispers* dead meme.

Still good for Ape decks or something though. Also, the dwarves aren't the main focus of the deck; the vehicles are.

But... My joke is funny... I dunno, vehicles out or cars out for Harambe doesn't sound as good.

Are you worried that you have too many vehicles and not enough pilots? Basically, without a pilot, vehicles are just more expensive Darksteel Relics, so you don't really ever want to draw more cars than you can drive.

Vehicules can be pilots too.

A vehicle isn't a creature unless it's crewed...other than that, it's a non-creature artifact, incapable of acting as a pilot. However, Start Your Engines turns all vehicles into creatures (w/o having to crew them to do so) 'til EOT, providing another option to attack if long on vehicles but short on pilots.

Yeah, I mean't that they can be pilots if they are "piloted" too

This is a budget deck that I currently run. Half a playset would double the price of this deck. ~$40 is nice and cheap. I largely avoid $75+ decks so 80 is over, and 120 (a full playset implemented) is not my style.

The only reason Sky Sovereign is in there is because I already had 2.

Lol Mangykobold3, I was just on another deck where you asked the same question. Just because Copter is the "it" card right now doesn't mean every deck has to run it...imo. :)

Simple, not really unique...

But dang does it look solid, that's how I like my decks.
It's even cheap AND standard? Yes!

There's not that many cards in standard. Especially if you want to use a new mechanic

It will get better with the next set (I hope).
Then again they don't have much choice, if the next set does not increase the vehicle support then it would've been a temporary hype.

If they wanted, they could even carry it into future sets with chariots or something. There probably wouldn't be much enhancement though.

Wonderful deck! I really approve, so much in fact that I made my deck very similar to yours. I just have a couple things that I want to suggest, feel free to shoot me down. One thing is that I am assuming you are going for the more budget type of build, and some of these suggestions may not support that build well, so keep that in mind while reading these. Also I have put 3 asterisks next to the crucial points on this list.

***Ovalchase dragster - A pretty bad card, 4 mana for a 6/1 haste, trample, crew 1. Why not take your Smugglers Copters (currently sideboarded) and put them in instead? They're 2 mana cheaper, let you draw, have flying, and won't be killed by tiny blockers. The only disadvantage is that Ovalchase Dragster is cheap.

Armada Express - Meh... 5 mana 8/6, menace, crew 4. Meh... Not a bad card persay, but you could put in a third Skysoverign, kind of running the risk of getting 2 in a hand, nothing more annoying then a second legendary taking up space. Maybe cut out some Armada Expresses for more items farther down the list.

***Planeswalkers - Chandras (particularly Torch of Defiance) are great, sometimes giving draw, burn, and ramp in the case of Torch. Nahiri gives draw and removal, as well as some nice tutor for a minus. Again, kind of pricy, depends on your budget.

Cultivator's Caravan - Gives mana, a 3 mana 5/5, crew 3. A very solid drop, worst comes to worst helps you ramp for your 5 drop, Skysoverign. Also great for pressure early on.

***Start Your Engines - What... Why... Who... A very good card if they're killing your pilots, so maybe a sideboard for a control, but in a normal game this would not be a useful card.

Built to Last/Smash - One of the best cards out in this type of deck, definitely put in a fourth. But you may want to consider cutting out Built to Smashes, as having 7 instant buff cards can be a little bit much. Maybe go to 2?

Land - I would put in some trans-land (turn into a creature with mana), the R/W one is Needle Spire, turns into a 2/1 with double strike.

Trusty Companion - If you're running out of creatures to crew (not that I suspect this will happen), he's a 2 mana 3/2, great for crewing.

Burn - I would sideboard some burn cards to take of larger swarms.

Thank you for all the suggestions and the reasoning behind them. I may make a new deck that is a more optimist version of this with a bigger budget, but I will say that for most of your suggestions that will really impact the deck are pricey. They are effective, but still wallet slayers.
Also, on the Start your Engines, the fact it gives all your creatures, including both the vehicles and pilots +2/+0 for a final swing.

Start Your Engines is also incredibly important if you are only drawing Vehicles. Vehicles are strong, but if you get extremely poor luck, being able to use them is really important.

(See Also: Khans/Theros Early Standard | Mardu Goblins - - Ran a playset of Trumpet blast, which most people didn't agree with. Except 90% of the time, I used it with tokens to drop an opponent from 32 (Bad Abzan game) to -16. No one expects those 3 tokens to do more than 3 damage, but after a trumpet blast, it turns into almost half of your starting life.) - So I'm also a fan of aggro in that sense.

If you are talking about Speedway Fanatic, he is amazing. Vehicles have summoning sickness just like creatures, and having Speedway allows you to crew and attack the turn a vehicle comes out. It works especially well as a turn 2 drop, followed by a hasted turn 3 Renegade Freighter for 5 trample damage. Ouch.
