Deck discussion for 1 Mana Nayan Hell

you cant make much better of a 1 drop deck than this, however you have a vital flaw, because everything costs 1 mana you really only need to be running 18-20 land just run dual lands and jungle shrine and you will be fine.

Thanks Haz, I shall definitely do that! I will keep the Terramorphic Expanses in though, for those times, as I'm sure you know. Thanks for the advice!

lookin better, id really try to get it down to 20 land though, and like the other guy said brave the elements probally isnt the best call give it a little more time and you should have the best one drop deck possible

I've been trying to cut down on the land but it's not the easiest thing! I think personally that I have cut down on the land as much as I can, if you think I can in any other way I am entirely open to your suggestions! Thanks Haz.

though i see that your trying to stay t2 standard, but as far as the competition goes something like this would deff work better.

Yeah, I try to stay within t2 Standard, I simply prefer the feel of it etc. That and I don't like playing Legacy so if I was to make this deck for the place where I play (becoming a high likelihood) so I'd want to keep it standard. Still thanks for the advice.

Could you take a look at my man land deck? The people at where say it's good but I'd like some more opinions. Thanks http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=90786 :)

That is a pretty brutal looking deck. One thing to consider though, is maybe Vines of Vastwood instead of Giant Growth. I didn't check up the rules on the 1 mana cost, but if kicker doesn't count, then Vines would work well in that spot.

Another suggestion would be Emerge Unscathed instead of Brave the elements. Since only 2/5 of your creatures are white, it might be more useful.

Anyway, just my 2 cents, solid deck either way.

I've just taken a look at Vines of Vastwood and I would put it in but the +4/+4 bonus is if it was kicked and I'm trying to keep this deck entirely on just 1 mana cost, even the Leveller's Level Up cost is 1 so I'd like to try and keep it that way. I've put Emerge Unscathed in as you suggested though and your reasoning was perfect. Thanks for the really great feedback! :)

I know this might sound weird, but I'm suggesting this so you can abuse your Steppe Lynx even further.

LAND:
4 Arid Mesa
3 Misty Rainforest
4 Plains
3 Mountain
3 Forest
4 Jungle Shrine

Try that instead - it's definitely off the top of my head, and probably needs a little tweaking. I think that Steppe Lynx was made to be abused by fetches (duh!), and this will also ensure a little more speed and mana fix. Let me know what you think! I know it's a tad more expensive, but trust me, seeing a 4/5 Steppe Lynx turns 2 and 3 with a Wild Nacatl or Student of Warfare Behind? It feels pretty good ;]

I've added in your suggestion and found that I don't need the Amulet of Vigor any more seeing as I don't have any "Enters the battlefield tapped" lands any more so I've put in Serra Ascendant just for the hell of it to fill up the last 3 slots in the deck. Let me know what you reckon so I can continue to edit and reassemble till I have a rather good deck. :)

I'm not convinced that Dragonmaster Outcast really fits in this deck. Yes he's a one drop with a great ability but he seems inconsistent with the beatdown idea with Steppe Lynx and Wild Nactyl. Maybe throw in a Trusty Machete or Kitesail to make the damage more consistent?

I've got him in there because a) he's a one drop, b) he's a one drop with an awesome ability, c) he's a one drop with an awesome ability that makes flyers. And flying is the only weakness of this deck. I know he doesn't fit as such, but I do need a flyer or a flyer generator.
Thanks for the feedback.

I think Dragonmaster Outcast fits pretty well in this deck. He works for the exact same reason that Scute Mob does, especially if you drop him with the 6 lands you need already in play, with an Emerge Unscathed in your hand to protect him at least once.

Jungle Shrine really hurts this deck. I would suggest to replace them with new scars duals like
Copperline Gorge and Razorverge Thicket. Since you don't want to skip any drop beacuse of a tapped land. And also with cutting down land to 20 you will really struggle to ever activate Dragonmaster Outcast and to a lesser degree Scute Mob

With shards rotating out, I definitely agree with this. One of the big problems with decks like this, is that you need very specific mana in the early turns to go with what's in your hand. Some of the red/green and/or green/white should work just as well. As with all dual lands though, there is the chance that they'll show up later and come into play tapped anyway, but I think it helps the early game-mid game, which is where this deck is expected to excel.

Thanks for the feedback, I shall definitely take a look at a different mana base and running the dual lands instead of Jungle Shrine. This deck has sort of fallen by the wayside for me lately but it'd be nice to pick it up again.
