Well one! The only creature I like to see in a Reanimator deck that isn't here is Reya. Still, without her, you have a very nice balance of animate and bury.

In regards to a sideboard, though, consider Innocent Blood (as you can reanimate your sacrifice) or Edicts to help you balance any obstacles that might pop up in the early game. Though, now that Entomb is no longer restricted, I can imagine there being few issues with early threats. I might have to rebuild my reanimator deck.

If you get a chance, please take a look at my Black Hole deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=345027). Any comments or criticism would be much appreciated as I'm trying to make it as final as possible.

Thanks!

try putting in archon of redemption so your opponent has no powerof attacking you

Griselbrand is a must, draw 7-14 cards and so you can easily do it all again next turn but other than that good, leyline of sanctity for the sideboard if they have any gy hate

As others said I recommend that reya is a must, I think it is better than the empyrial archangel. You dont need to change other cards, as I saw in turn 2 or turn 1 also with dark rituals you can call a creature, a question that blue praetor leaves the opponent with no cards?

Indeed. The reason that i dont run Reya or Griselbrand is that i prefer to have creatures that are difficult to dealt with, and shroud and hexproof help with that. If i have to use 3 or 4 cards to cast one fatty creatures and the op kill it with a doom blade or use unsummon or whatever, i`m screwed. Iona and Jin are the exception but they have powerful effects that could give you the match.

cool deck, and since you are running Iona, I would add painter's servant. I know its a bit cheap but it will definitely make your opponents cringe.

I love the concept of reanimator decks. This looks like a solid deck, although someone mentioned Reya which I could suggest a better. Sheoldred, The Whispering One. Some ability, but also makes opponants sac creatures, and it is 6/6 swampwalk. It also is cheaper cmc than Reya and it is black, do you can hardcast it in this deck of you need to.

Who knows you might get a few ideas from Graveborn Premium Deck Series. It focuses on this stuff. I know i'm probably stating the obvious, but hey, just thought i'd through it out there.

Sheoldred, The Whispering One and Griselbrand are both very good possible additions to this.
You already have her in there, but Iona is a no-brainer. This deck looks really solid. I'd probably run a Mox Diamond or two for the early mana ramp, but this still looks good without them.

With Lotus Petal and 19 Swamp i have a good mana production, i wouldn´t run Mox Diamond too, it seems to much. It could replace the petals, but they work very fine, and have dark ritual too. Thanks for comment

living death could be good here as well.let your graveyard build, and your opponents field build, then swap them and come out on top.

Griselbrand is a much, because as you mention card disadvantage is a major weakness of this deck. Griselbrand will never give you card disadvantage because you can draw. Then you can discard your fatties with it. It's really cool

I think i may try doing my own animator deck similar to this. Some pretty smart ideas in here.

or even blazing archon

0
Posted 10 June 2012 at 18:02

Blazing is only useful for his effect that the creatures can´t attack you, i prefer Iona or Jin as a dissabler, cause they have more powerful effects that keeps the opponent doing nothing, and if they can´t do a thing, it would be more chances that they keep in play and the opponent couldn´t get ride of them. Elesh Norn is useful in another kind of deck i think, not to much creatures in play if played early game to being useful.

those cards would be amazing against elves, affinity and many other decks, im just saying that those are way more useful than inkwell levithan, hes just a fatty, blazing archon is a fatty with a great effect as well. just my opinion!

0

yes blazing archons effect is great but, he is only a 5/6 with flying while inkwell is a 7/11 with islandwalk, trample, and shroud.

*first time I see a reanimator deck*

first turn jin. Pish pash, thats a bunch of trash. Wait a second....

JK JK, like O M G ur deck s so spectculr rlly, just gg everyone this deck is da bombz! Get pwned!

Grafidiggers cage, and no, I will not wait patiently till turn 10 for you to hard-cast Akroma.

I'm Just sayin' that you should really look for any artifact removal you can find. And trust me, the only artifact removal printed in black is the worst ever printed.

Of course, every deck has it´s weakness. Grafdigger's Cage, Tormod's Crypt, etc, are very nasty for this deck. But, common sence tell me that no deck would run them in the first match of a tournament. And if i managed to win the first match, this deck, with a bit of luck, could win a second match, even with those cards in the opponent`s deck. But as i said, every deck has it´s weakness, and this deck is no exception.

That's why Reanimator plays Show and Tell on sideboard. Just because those opponents sideboard-cards hate this deck so much (Surgical Extraction, Tormod's Crypt, Relic of the Progenitus etc). I dont have Reanimator (yet) but my some of my friends play it so I know how it works :)

Ps. Good deck!

I run a red black reanimator and have found ingot chewers to be death to artifacts. Simply convoke it for a red, it comes into play, affect goes off allowing u to destroy an artifact and then it goes to graveyard. Best thing is ingots ability triggers everytime it enters battlefield. I splash red for faithless lootings too and terminates.
