Deck Description

Uses life as a resource while seeking to minimize opponent's virtual card advantage. I've added a lot of removal for early board control (sideboard Duress against control) - Desecration Demon also control the board. There's a lot of life gain potential to supplement life total, which excess life can be used for card advantage.

I would like to run Lifebane Zombie at some point. I just don't have any at the moment.

Vampire Nighthawk isn't in standard and doesn't really fit the control strategy of the deck.

What would you put in its place? I need devotion to black as a win con.

Hmm... maybe. I honestly don't know how much I like Lord of the Void. This is my first deck running it. It's a very expensive finisher with an ability that I don't think matters in most cases if you're punching for 7 damage. I put it in because I needed a finisher with a lot of black in its mana cost, but I only own one and would have to trade for or buy another. Hythonia can clear the board - not that I would hope to pull that trigger in most cases, but it's nice to have that option.

2 necropolis regents would be better than 1 hythonia and 1 lord of the void
