Deck Description

Retaliator Griffin was the real start to this deck - the idea of gaining things when I get hit. Knowing of at least two other cards at that time with similar effects - Darien and Reckoner - I set out to make a deck revolving around the idea of taking damage isn't that bad. Mix in Elixir of Immortality and Witchbane Orb to prevent mill and outright burn, and you have an annoying deck to go up against.

Note: This deck was built for Multiplayer Format - hence why it's called "Global" Politics - and for casual, fun games. Obviously, this deck is no way meant for anything serious.

Excluding Reckoner and the lands, this deck is fairly budget, coming to about $40-$50. You can easily substitute Holy Day, Rings, etc. for Reckoner. As for land base - 11 plains, 10 forests. Please take notice of the "fairly". I really don't know everyone's definition of budget. According to this site, the built deck is worth $236 mid range wise. The fact that you can make most of the deck plus some for about $50 and have it still work just as well, to me makes the $50 version a budget version of this one.

How to Play

You start off the game watching your opponents. When someone looks like they are going aggressive, play a Guilty Conscience or Spirit Loop. Drop Reckoner and Spitemare as defensive units, while getting the field ready for aggressive players. Finally, when you begin to become targeted (hopefully after turn 10), you won't be taking much damage, gaining +1/+1 counters, 1/1 soldiers, and watching your opponent sacrifice his/her permanents (and maybe drawing cards). Fog and Naturalize are in there to keep yourself alive early and keep your stuff on the field later. Elixir for life and anti-mill; Witchbane for "target" player and outright burn spells.

Deck discussion for Global Politics

Sun Droplet would be a nice card to add and moments peace over fog ;) Also, you may want to add something that allows you to affect your opponents because I wouldn't be attacking you in a multiplayer game as it stands. So you will need something more to finish off that last opponent.
