Deck Description

A new challenge thought up by s0rinmark0v! The idea is to build a guild deck, WITHOUT the guild's featured ability! E.g. Selesnya can't use Populate, Izzet can't use Overload, etc.
Yes... This is also exteded to the Ravnica: City of Guilds abilities.
Please note, you still need to have cards WITH your guild's symbol on them, just not the main ability

This example is Orzhov deck, without any no Haunt or Extort. Same strategy but no main cards

How to Play

I used 2 cmc creatures and cheap auras to beef them up.

Immortal Servitude will only cost 5 to bring back all my creatures (except Nip)to the battlefield.

Kor Spiritdancer will get huge, as will anyone wearing Ethereal Armor.

Replenish will bring back all enchantments.

Lifelink and Auras are a theme. 9 lifelink cards ensures I can hang in the game.

Kor Spiritdancer provides card advantage and a beater.

High Priest of Penance will make opponent regret ever stepping up against him.

The deck is cheap and looks fun. May have to actually try this one out!

Serra's Sanctum for the win.
Mana ramp like a champ.
But it destroys the "The deck is cheap and looks fun. May have to actually try this one out!" part of the deck.

And wow, the Vectis card gives me so many freaking ideas for decks.
Thanks for letting me know that card existed!

And 18 lands...3 of which comes in tapped...you may find trouble with that.
Not sure.
Will have to play test it. The Guildmage, in particular, looks like he would love all the extra mana you could find.

That's a great point!
18 land is definitely questionable.
I may have to revisit that.

Ok. I moved Nip to sideboard to add 2 land and another Mourning Thrull and Nightsky Mimic.
While this tanks my turn 1, it also means that all my creatures are 2cmc.

It also means I live in fear of Steel Hellkite, Consume the Meek, Engineered Explosive, Austere Command, and Culling Sun.

I can live with that.
