Deck Description

Here is the Challenge:
Make an Aristocrat deck.

Rules:
1) Decks must contain 60 cards.
2) Decks can have up to 2 rares. Of the two rares, each one must be unique. In other words, a deck can't have two copies of the same rare.
3) Mythic rares are not allowed. Ever! Yes, that means no planeswalkers.
4) Decks can also have up to 12 uncommons. Like the rares, the number of copies you can include of any particular uncommon is restricted. In this case, no more than three copies of any one uncommon are allowed.
5) The rest of your deck is composed of commons, with the restriction that only 4 copies of up to three particular commons are allowed, with the rest of the deck's commons being limited to no more than 3 per unique common.
6) Basic lands are used as normal, with no particular limit on copies.
7) Sideboards are allowed and encouraged, and may include up to 1 rare and 3 uncommons, duplicating perfectly the rarity distribution of a typical booster pack. Additionally, none of the cards in the sideboard can be copies of the cards in the main deck.
8) Sideboards are allowed to have 4 copies of up to two particular commons in the sideboard.

How to Play

This is an Aristocrat Deck.

Rare: 2 (unique)
1x Braid of Fire
1x Balefire Liege

Uncommon: 12 (no more than 3 of a kind)
2x Boros Charm
2x Lightning Helix
3x Pyrohemia
3x Spitemare
2x Volcanic Fallout

Common: 26 (no more than 3 of which can have 4 copies)
3x Ajani's Sunstriker
4x Crimson Acolyte
4x Disciple of Law
2x Evolving Wilds
4x Ethereal Armor
3x Lightning Bolt
3x Mask of Law and Grace
3x Wall of Hope

Basic Land: 20
10x Plains
10x Mountains

I have long been a fan of Pestilence and couldn't resist the idea to make the red version of a pestilence deck in this burgeoning Aristocrat format. Pyrohemia.

Spitemare seems a natural fit to accelerate the damage done. Keeping her alive is another matter. Ethereal Armor accomplishes that. Mask of Law and Grace is less useful here because it prevents the damage I want Spitemare to take.

Then there's the matter of burn. Like a backyard grillmaster I sought the right tongs for the barbeque; ones that would minimize self-scorching. I decided on life-givers such as Balefire Liege, Wall of Hope, Ajani Sunstriker and Lightning Helix. To turn up the heat, I added Lightning Bolt and Vocanic Fallout (a nice mini-Pyrohemia). Braid of Fire is an accelerant fit to burn your eyebrows off.

Boros Charm is a great multi-tool. As a face punch for 4 damage, its great. It can also make all my critters indestructible for a turn. Useful vs. board wipes, or any time my minions are crying for help. Double-strike may seem like nothing, but an ethereal armored Ajani Sunstriker with double-strike is going to give me a nice life boost.

Disciple of Law serves as either a creature or as card draw.

This deck keeps it cheap. Hope you like it!

Excelsior!

Pyrohemia...umm, that is a red version of an older black card.
Pestilence.

And it is a very neat card.
And you did it justice.
This type of deck is right up my alley...and the type of bullshit decks I make.
Bs in that it is super aggravating to play against!!!

The Pyrohemia with protection of red and lifegain with the Wall and Spitemare, pure bs!!
I love it.
This is probably my favorite of your Aristocrat decks :)

Only iffy card...is your Braid of Fire.
I get that it feeds Pyrohemia...and that seems/sounds really nice!
Just not feeling it, and not sure why.
Regardless, lovely deck!!!

Maybe to a red/black version of this featuring both
Pyrohemia
Pestilence.

good Lord, that would be messy.
Auriok Champion would rule, Mask of Law and Grace would be doubly useful.
Would run Sun Droplet
But thats 3 colors.

As for Braid of Fire, would Personal sanctuary be better? Its also a rare enchantment. I put Braid in for the offense, but Personal Sanctuary is solid for defense vs Pyrohemia.

Or would a different rare work better?

I don't understand.....how i s braid of fire an accelerant if the mana empties before you can use it?

Is it because of free pyrohemia burn at start of turn?

and why have the mask? to protect something from hemia or kill spells?
