Deck discussion for Death's Reap

For some reason Altar's Reap popped in my head. It would actually work well with sorin's +1. Whip of and Erebos might work as well. Good luck.

Good idea! Any weak links that I should replace for Altar's reap?

At the moment (since I'm unsure of what to take out), I'd sideboard it. Pithing Needle and some more kill spells should be sideboarded as well. Vault of the Archangel might be a good utility land for this deck.

No problem. I have a friend(http://www.mtgvault.com/shadowdusk13/) that runs Dega vampires in modern so I know a little. Also, I can't believe I forgot to mention cavern of souls.

Knighthood would also work since sorin doesn't give toughness and the first strike advantage.

I've been playing Modern Vampires for a while and I love playing them. You've got a few things which I hadn't thought of, but for my little addition, I'd add:

Zealous Persecution. It's possibly the most useful card in my deck. Give it a try, see how it fits.
Guul Draz Vampire/ Vampire Lacerator. The Zendikar one drop vamps are still powerful.
Vampire's Bite. It's an early answer to big threats and a late game powerhouse if you kick it.
Castigate is a tasty control card. It's no thoughtsieze, but it can be useful.

Being positive, I really like the Idea of Vampire Hexmage. That's a great answer to Jaces and Elspeths, and I may have to try them out myself.

Best of luck to you!

Not to mention hydras and other things that deal with counters. Nice suggestions. What are thoughts on Banshee's Blade and Blade of the Bloodchief?

@KJSJ3 I haven't been able to get my hands on a blade of the bloodchief to playtest with but I think it is generally better than the banshee's blade. Bloofcheif and Bloodghast go very well together, if you can consistently reincarnate it as often as possible.

@ShinsooKatti Plus, your mana curve is still pretty strange and a few more one drops would be helpful.
This is how I'm running it now. http://www.mtgvault.com/cjreedemption/decks/vampires-gone-modern/

Best of luck to you!

Are you trying to keep this deck in any specific format? Namely modern? Cause if not, then i would suggest dark depths as a replacement for one of your swamps. you already have vampire hexmage, so it would work super well in the deck. you only need one copy, and you don't need to change the theme of the deck at all either. it's a free win-con basically. (Also, your deck would still be legal in legacy and vintage, just not modern.)

Damn that would be a nice combo! I'm trying to stay modern but ill add in my sideboard for when I'm playing friends and whatnot. Thanks for pointing that out!

In my personal experience I consider dropping Shadow Lance down to 2 or remove them completely. They are very good, but not so much when you have multiple out at once. Additionally if you are going for an anthem type theme then I would avoid single creature pump stuff like auras. So far I've mainly only found Shadow Lance to be worth it in a B/W lifelink deck.

I think your deck is pretty solid for a vampire deck but I'm just gonna post the names of a few cards you may want to look at. I do of course not reccommend you exchange your deck with these samples but I think you should take a few moments to considder them individually.

I'm sorry if I seem to swamp you with this, but I assure you the pun is not intended but the good intentions are.

Instants & Sorceries
"Profit // Loss", "Life // Death", "Ready // Willing", "Pain // Suffering", "Night // Day", "Grasp of Darkness", "Consume Spirit", "Vampiric Tutor", "Corrupt", "Tendrils of Corruption"

Enchantment
Bloodchief Ascension
Creatures
staples:
"Anowon, the Ruin Sage", "Blood Baron of Vizkopa", "Bloodline Keeper", "Blood Artist", "Bloodghast (really, really recommend this one. You can just keep running at them non stop as much as you want)", "Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief", "Gatekeeper of Malakir (2\2 AND a removal for 3 mana? who doesn't want?)", "Tithe Drinker (does a LOT more than it looks like at first glance.)", "Sangromancer", "Kalastria Highborn", "Pulse Tracker", "Korlash, Heir to Blackblade"

"Guul Draz Vampire", "Mephidross Vampire", "Quag Vampires", "Ascendant Evincar"

I like the bloodghasts! I liked my gatekeepers as well but decided to take them out for nighthawks. Thanks for all the suggestions! It will take me a while to comprehend and sort through them all :D

Give my Vampire deck a peek. May give you some ideas, granted it is black and red though...still may help.

But I do like how you worked Sorin, Lord of Inistrad into this scheme. I placed him in my Life Drain deck:

Dega or W/R/B as it is also known. I have a friend who runs Dega Vampires (http://www.mtgvault.com/shadowdusk13/). Just use deck search for vampires (http://www.mtgvault.com/decks/search/?q=sorin,%20lord%20of&searchtype=cardname&c=w,b,r&cmulti=true).

Ok, I thought it was a card or something. I will look at.

Now I am not too sure of why this forum is available, but all the decks that I have posted, are decks that I own. Any insight on them would be greatly appreciated. But keep in mind though, they all have a theme to them.

Good Sir. Please take some time to look at the greatest vampire deck of all time. Undefeated in real life. Provided we use the sideboard ;p. With no further delay. The original version was received extremely well and I hope this new one will do the same.
