The original Stompy had like 10 land, all 1 manacost creatures (rogue elephant, ghazban ogre, quirion ranger, elvish spirit guides etc) and winter orb -- totally abused its mana efficiency with winter orb. I personally think of most green aggro decks as "beats" as opposed to stompy because anything over 1 (MAYBE 2) was too expensive for stompy.
