Interesting design Setherial, I'd love to hear how this works out for you. Is Meddling Mage really worth it anymore though? I mean, it has it's games, but overall I'd rather have Teeg, and maybe two copies of Flusterstorm.
Thanks. It's a bit of a fun build as I'm slowly assembling a full playset of berserk, I'm currently at 3. That said I believe Elspeth is strickly better but berserk has potential. In a list with both Elspeth and berserk I fancy a move like: Give Snapcastermage +3/+3 and flying with elspeth and berserk him doing 10 damage. That would be nuts. I want a list that can do that but I haven't worked it out yet. I'll post a list once I have something down on paper. Meddling mage is really good against Show and Tell and it being a bear it helps you set a clock where more counters don't. I've been playing mostly UWx Stoneblade of late and there the lack of a fast clock against combo is a real issue. In this list I don't know if the body meddling mage brings to the table is needed. We'll see. About Teeg, he's pretty bad in this list killing my own Green Sun and Force of Will. Also Teeg doesn't stop Storm decks as they can usually just bounce him. He might delay them if they need to play Ad Nausium to win. He's also pretty useless against show and tell. Against Sneak Attack lists he's ok.
Ah, I see. I don't see a lot of Show and Tell lists, so I've gotten to the point I'd rather have Teeg, as he does more by stopping Ill-Gotten Gains as well as Ad Nauseam and Tendrils. Shutting down Force does hurt, but the blow is softened by the presence of Spell Pierce in any of my decks running Snapcaster Mage. I've never personally been a fan of Elspeth myself, being one to always approach anything costing three or four with a great deal of caution. However the current meta might allow for her to be a very wise choice for decks such as this.
more and more top players start running 2 elspeth on top of 3 jace. Jace wins games but Elspeth kills Jace and adds a serious clock/reach. Also 3 and 4 drops are pretty good in decks running 22-24 land like most snapcaster/stoneforge decks do. You can play around daze easily enough and you bypass spell snare which is run mainboard a lot. With that amount of land you want cards that pack some serious power and card advantage so you can recover what you give up by playing a slower deck.
