The title alone gets you a like :)

IMO just run Diabolic Revelation over Behold the Beyond. Behold gets you three cards for seven mana, but it requires you to pitch your hand. Rev gets you two for seven with no pitch, or three for eight with no pitch, both of which I would argue are better. Plus it scales upward if you have more mana.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is runnable in a deck with this mana permanents. Cabal Coffer probably is useable here as well.

Its usually 4 Forests to 1 swamp in play at a time. Urborg being a recent addition with no way to fetch it. SO coffers is off the table.

I hadn't considered Nykthos. Ill try to grab one.

Ill ignore demonic tutor in these calculations.

rev at cmc 6 = 1 card, increasing ambition is better at 5. with the option to FB later.
rev at cmc 7 = 2 cards, Behold the beyond is better, additional card and same cost.
rev at cmc 8 = 3 cards, behold is better Same cards, Costs less.
rev at cmc 9 = 4 cards, only time Rev is better.

And if my opponents let rev for 4 resolve i should just be winning the next turn. Which i wont be with this deck.

The discard isnt a downside. If merens out its all upside.

But assuming im not a meren deck if i do have anything left in hand and havent played it yet, odds are im not going to. so the three cards are infinitely better than my hand. If my hand IS better than what behold can tutor...why am i tutoring instead of playing my other cards?

Because if you're hand is consistently empty enough where the discard doesn't matter you're doing something wrong. Even with Meren out if you're building your deck right wheeling your hand should never be a good option.

That said you're intentionally building this deck a certain way without the usual draw. I suppose in that kind of situation where you're purposely handcuffing yourself it's probably playable. The same holds true of Cabal Coffers; in a two color black/green deck it should be playable, but you're intentionally handcuffing yourself in a way in a way that makes it not playable, so it's not :)

the deck is 80% green spells. If i had this ratio and wasnt all gimmicky i would STILL not use coffers. Nothing to do with handcuffing myself. The land base should reflect the spells color ratio so you're realistically casting everything. that means ill never have enough swamps to make it relevant. Unless we get to a point in the game where the high mana itself is irrelevant.

If im drawing cards and my hand is good.....I shouldnt need to tutor. We seem to have fallen into a Catch 22.

It doesn't matter the color of the spells. They almost all use colorless mana, and the more you produce the more spells you cast. Coffers (or Urborg, or both) are easily fetchable in your colors, and if you have proper draw you should have no problem using the mana up each turn. I ran it in a primarily red Lyzolda deck and never regretted it.

Again though, you don't have the draw to need the mana, just like you don't have the draw to care about the discard of Behold the Beyond.
