A deck built of cards with upkeep triggers.
I've never seen this idea done before, but now that I see it and have tested it in sample draws, I wonder why not. Without really trying I ended up with a perfect balance of creatures and enchantments that work with the theme while affecting the game in different ways. As all these upkeep triggers begin to accumulate, this deck builds on itself quickly and powerfully. Nyx-Fleece Ram and Drana's Emissary both compliment Fretwork Colony.Because most of the cards are very inexpensive, running three colors is rarely a problem. Since this deck isn't specifically designed for Triskaidekaphobia, I only use one so I can ensure the proper situation to apply it to.

Paradox Haze?

3 colors is enough. Azor's is half-white
I would nevertheless consider using blue and Paradox Haze here. There are enough interesting cards with ETB-triggers in blue to find a replacement for Primordial Hydra. It would also give you access to Etherwrought Page which is a very versatile card.
Let us not forget that Paradox Haze stacks (provided you're not denied your first upkeep) and this deck is running green, the king of mana fixing. Even if you drop green, there's a ton of artifacts that can help with mana fixing. Playing on the upkeep effect, the following are worth considering:Deep-Sea Kraken; or most any Suspend card. The Honden from Kamigawa. Any of the shrines from New Phyrexia. I really like Etherwrought Page. Makes me want to get a set as I already have 4 Paradox Haze.
Thassa, God of the Sea + Paradox Haze are excellent in my Esper deck; scry (at least) 2 on each of your turns, deal unblockable damage, & if you add Bident of Thassa, draw a card (+ Bident's provoke ability, as desired). One Bident + one Elocutors is all you'd need to meet Thassa's devotion requirement, as well, giving you a 5/5 indestructible whose own ability can make it unblockable (not to mention your Fretwork Colony!). Sorry, I just couldn't resist jumping on the Paradox Haze bandwagon. But it really would be great in your deck. :)
Holy crap, Thassa's Scy is an upkeep trigger? That's frigging awesome. Must get me a few copies.
Weighing the different bits of advice, here is the revised deck. Enjoy
