Inspired by other combo decks, I spent a great deal of time perfecting this ultimate creature combo: Veteran Warleader and Darksteel Juggernaut. The combined theme was then perfected with the lowest cost allies and artifact creatures out there. I then further added special lands Tomb of the Spirit Dragon and Grove of the Guardian to finish off this fast, perfectly complimentary and consistent deck. It took a while to perfect the balance of creatures and lands. It may seem land heavy for such a low cost deck. But, the balance you see now is what it took for the design to work at maximum consistency and effectiveness.
You will average 2-4 creatures summoned on the first turn. I've done enough sample hands and turn-by-turn projections to feel confident in promising that you can summon Warleader, Darksteel, or sometimes activate Grove of the Guardian with 4-7 turns on average. If it takes longer, usually your Tombs can easily keep your life total at a comfortable number. Then, if things really take long (I've never gone past 12 turns) you'll have enough weenies out there to sacrifice one or two to a blocking assignment if necessary. The beauty is whenever the rare delay occurs in summoning Warleader or Darksteel, they are that much bigger and scarier when they come out. Plus, in certain situations the Allies can generate a little offense of their own and Lantern Scout can replenish your life if you get behind. This is the best deck I've created so far. Please update me if you get the chance to play it yourself. Also, if you have ideas for a sideboard to enhance this deck in tournament play, I'm interested in suggestions.
