Deck discussion for All it Takes is an Idea

OK, this is the combo, voice and mimic seems very busted to me, so lets work from there. If you think of anything i'll add everybody's ideas then we start cutting. Hopefully we get to something that is truly TERRIFYING to behold. Thank you and good luck.

mimic is a 6 drop, so its not busted at all, and voice, while good, is still pretty easy to deal with. neither of these cards are "broken" in the Stoneforge mystic/Jace sense.

but Ill play. add 4 Advent of the Wurm

If it's copies you are going for Parallel lives, HAS to be added. 100%. Having said that, Clone & Cackling counterpart. Intangible virtue to protect your creature tokens. Master Biomancer for some seriously buff creatures. You will need the ramp so farseeks and avacyn's pilgrim. Maybe even Gyre sage. This is a great idea you have, I'd like to see where this goes.

while yes, stoneforge and jace was stupidly broken everything in zedikar was a little broken, and i love doing combos that shouldn't work but do, so thanks for adding and we will see where this goes

And to keep it going you can toy with them, Trostani, Selesnya's voice & Bronzebeak Moa, can give you health and give you a powerful creature every turn.... Go for 4 Parallel lives, it doubles up on itself. 1 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16

might as well fix the mana base now:
4x Hinterland Harbor
4x Breeding Pool
4x Temple Garden
3x Glacial Fortress
4x Hallowed Fountain
3x Sunpetal Grove
2x Gavony Township

oh, and 3 Sphinyx's Revelation

So, 4 cards to cut unless anybody else wants to add something.

ok now you've gotta sideboard some stuff. I'd say sideboard the Moas and have them in only if you feel you need to be musclier than the opponent, the same for Trostani, only if you feel you need that extra life. I'd also side some thragtusks for that extra muscle again. and take out one parallel lives, 3 should be enough to get you at least 2 on the field...

-2 Bronzebeak Moa
-2 Clone (sideboard for legend rule removal)

Moa is unnecessary, and doesnt really fit whats going on, and token copies get taken care of with Paralell lives

Ok thragtusk sideboard correct?

I would. I might even drop the counterparts to the SB in favor of a couple Call to the Conclave for early token production

Yeah sideboard thraggys. Same with Ninja, side counterparts and get call of conclave in there, or even centaur healer....

Cyclonic Rift in the sideboard is good against aggro as well. I run 3.

+3 Nevermore or Rest in Peace (nevermore is good in any matchup, RIP is good vs reanimator

1 more biomancer and 1 more COC Keep Moa in the sideboard get rid of clone

So, why bronzebeak over clone?

i like clone instead of Moa...Clone is a great SB for any legend you run into (tajic being particurarly tough to deal with) Moa is pretty bland, actually.

Well as much as I may like Moa, Ninja has a point, it is a good legend remover. Take out Moa, it's better in a more heavy populate deck.

I'm liking the looks of this deck. Looks like it could be really fun to play with!
Have you tried playing with this deck at all yet? I'm curious to see how it will do against Jund and Junk decks.

hmm i have been trying it out and all the mana keeps coming in tapped. i'm thinking of putting some basic in there any suggestions?

0

yes. use your shock lands right. you have plenty of islands forests and plains that nothing should be coming in tapped unless youre keeping bad poening hands or not taking the damage from the shock lands.

One of the guys at my local here gave me some good advice with lands. Ever since I took his advice on board I've had no problem with opening hand mana. You see how 50% of your mana is green, but only 25% blue and 25% white? You won't need to invest as much in the blue white colours, except for Sphinx's revelation, and by the time you're ready to use one, you will have UUW on the field. Take out 1 Glacial Fortress and 1 Hallowed Fountain, and replace them with just 2 forests. As it is your dominating colour, you want better chances to open with a green. This gives you better odds at getting the most used mana in your deck. Trust me on this, you look at my recent 3 colour decks I do it in every one of them.
