Deck Description

I've been trying and trying to come up with a green ramp that I'm satisfied with. This is my attempt, once again, to hone in on what I'm looking for based on decks I've come up against. One of the peskiest things I've had to overcome is removal type spells. From O-ring to Fiend Hunter to Traitorous Instinct (especially Traitorous Instinct), I've had my own stompy creatures kick my butt. I decided to try it without Predator Ooze, despite it being one of my favorite green creatures. Thoughts and considerations are more than welcome! Thanks!

Deck discussion for Green Ramp

Birds of Paradise isn't too useful for mono-color. I'd switch them out with Elvish Archdruid/Priest of Titania/Greenweaver Druid. Asceticism will save your butt a few times; that card's the bane of my existence for a couple of my decks. You shouldn't need too much mana acceleration after the creatures, so Rampant Growth can still be useful, but is optional. Overrun is a solid card to use close to the end game as well. Just my two cents ;-)

Thanks for the tips! My concern with exchanging the BIrds out for another creature that provides mana is that with the combo of having both the Llanowar Elves and BoP, there's a HUGE chance I'll have at least one of those in my opening hand. With the others, if I get one in my opening hand, it won't help until turn 2 or 3. Does that make it worth the trade? Plus, I can Green Sun the BoP or Llanowar really easily on turn 2 if I get one or the other out in turn 1. I'll check out the Overrun trade for Rampant Growth and see how it fairs for me. Thanks again!

You don't really need 4 rancor seeing as most of your creatures already have trample. I would take out the birds and put in 4 arbor elf and put in 2 elvish archdruid instead of 2 of the rancor. Just a thought though.

A couple of changes:

-2 Rancor, -4 BoP
+3 Arbor Elf, +3 Elvish Archdruid
