Deck Description

My idea for some major control.

Has a few wincon's in there for good measure, too.

Tell me what you think!

Deck discussion for No spells for you.

Would be fun to play, awful to play against. If you really want to annoy the other person, put Guile in there, so that when you counter the only spell they play, you steal it. He's also a 6/6 anyways, which can help be a win-con.

Render SIlent and Curse of Exhaustion are also kind of redundant with each other. The first stops them from playing any more spells, the other limits them to only one anyways, so if you counter it they don't get to play another anyways. Both are still annoying as all hell to face though.

If you wanted to splash Green, Gaddock Teeg would make things even more restrictive for them.

Wow... Guile is a pretty sweet suggestion. I'll think about adding him...

Thanks for pointing out the Render Silent and Curse of Exhaustion thing. I didn't even see that. Good catch!

While Gaddock is nasty, I think I want to keep it W/U.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

Due to Guile's high mana cost you'd probably only want maybe 2 of them in the deck, but once they hit the field it's probably game.

If you decide to add Guile, I'd suggest adding some more counterspells for Guile to feed off of, likely replacing either Ghostly Prison or Silence. Curse of Exhaustion + any counter spell is a powerful soft-lock out of the game. Although if you have Curse and Guile on the field, your opponent will probably just quit right then.

And if you feel the need for some more defense, Wall of Denial is pretty much the best you can get.

Yeah, I thought about adding more counter spells... do you think Cancel would be the best option? Honestly, I want to keep Silence in there for early control.

Mana Leak and Cancel are pretty much the best basic counters other than "Counterspell", so that should work fine. You could always look on Gatherer for other counters in U/W and see if any do anything special that you like.

And that's a good point with Silence. I'm not sure what you could cut to make room for any additional spells, though.

Cool. Took out Ghostly Prison and replaced with Cancel. :)

I don't know if you're looking to keep this limited to certain sets/formats, but Mana Tithe and Orim's Chant could be really good additions. Orim's Chant could replace Silence, since it does the same thing for the same price but comes with the added bonus of stopping attackers for the turn for one additional W. Overall, though, it looks really good!

Yeah, I'm trying to keep this Modern at least.
