Deck Description

Training Grounds to make Guild Mages and Brimstone Mage abilities cost less.

Draw lots of cards with Dimir Guildmage and replicate lots of spells with Izzet because of training grounds.

Curiosity on Niv-Mizzet for infinite damage combo. Or just copy Brainstorms with Izzet.. lotsa damage!

Lots of nice instants to replicate, and especially fun to copy Stitch In Time with an Izzet Guildmage for better chances at extra turns. Also, I have my fav artifact as of late, the Isochron Scepter to replicate other instants permanently. Use Isochron, copy with izzets!! Imagine First Turn: Training Grounds.. Second Turn: Imprint a Lightning Bolt on the Scepter. Third Turn: play an Izzet Guildmage and a Brainstorm. Fourth Turn, Bolt for 9 (Izzet copied Twice) Fifth Turn: Bolt for 12 (Izzet copied Thrice). That's game over, or a lot of opposing creatures dead. Either way, that's a pretty sweet way of clearing the board to set yourself up to bring in Niv-Mizzet on the sixth turn =D Grapeshot in sideboard may replace Stagger Shock because of Storm ability and it can be imprinted on the Scepter where Staggershock cannot. Not sure yet. *Edit* Grapeshot replaces Staggershock.

Jace is an obvious choice for this deck since his 0 ability gives you a free Brainstorm, and with Niv-Mizzet out, that can be very powerful. Or, just use him to control your opponent's draws and save up for that huge -12 Mega-Mill.

Can add one of the new M11 Time Reversal in the Sideboard. That's a free 7 damage if Niv-Mizzet is out and a brand new hand of cards.

Deck discussion for Infinite Zap! Copy! Control!

I'm trying to get this to 60 cards.. but it's tough because everything works so well together the way I have it set up.

Suggestions welcome =D

You might consider cutting the izzet boilerworks and adding cascade bluffs. Also, I'm not exactly sure how you plan on casting cast through time. You should either add mana acceleration through rite of flame or cut it from deck, as it will be almost impossible to play. This deck will probably have won by the time it gets the mana to play that.

can i suggest mirari? it's pretty much izzet guildmage but it doesn't restrict the cost of the instant or sorcery

I do have a Mirari. I'll throw it in there in the place of "Cast Through Time" and see how it works.
