Deck Description

My idea was to create a deck based around the splicers. As it is my first real entry into Type 2, I tried to make it as competitive as possible while keeping the splicers as the key to winning. There are only two threats, either a blightsteel being shaped anew'd, or by up'd golems and Venser. Opinions are very welcome, especially since I have not worked out a side board quite yet.

Deck discussion for Go Go Golems

I'd say Precursor Golem might be a worthy addition.

I don't think you really need Venser. Granted, he would be nice to have to 'blink' your Splicers and produce more Golem tokens. But he can be taken out for something else. Also, since you're running white you can run Precursor Golem like Blood said and invest in some protection cards like Apostle's Blessing and Emerge Unscathed.

My only fear with precursor golem is the tying of all the golems and then losing them to any sort of removal, a single go for the throat, lightning bolt or especially dismember will be game over.

I agree with you. There are way more kill/exile spells than there are protection spells. I would say stick to shape anew blightsteel. I'm sure you realized how easy it is to play him turn 4... Please consider sleep for this deck. My friend ran shape anew and shut me down with a turn 5 sleep and swing with blightsteel almost every single game we played. I really like this deck, great work. Inkmoth nexus and masters call are also good for shape anew. Good luck.

If you want to bring out Blightsteel with Shape Anew, you're going to need an artifact to target that you control. Unfortunately, that means when you do use Shape Anew, Blighsteel may not be the first artifact you come across.

I use master's call to gain use of shape anew, along with some of the new splicer that just came out.

Dude, the splicers make golems when they come out. He will just use those.

Just made an attempted U/W Golem deck based around the Splicers. It's shaping up to be pretty good and Venser is a BIG part of that. Definitely keep him. His blinking ability is pretty darn good, but his unblockable creatures is priceless. Also Surge Nodes and Conversion Chambers can be fun and Xenograft turns your Splicers into Golems as well. Take a look at mine if you wanna see a more heavily artifact-based version similar to this :)

the one thing I don't like is getting unlucky and drawing blightsteel before you can shape anew =S

As you're running blue, Xenograft can turn the Splicers into Golems granting them abilities and as you're running white, Tempered Steel pumps up those Golems (not the Xenografted Splicers though) and puts them out of burn range. Just my 2 cents worth :p
