Deck Description

Greetings potential Pathfinder RPG player...
I, Sorin Markov, have decided to host a game of Pathfinder on MTGVault and am now looking for players!

If you choose to play, please know these limits:
- Your character MUST be either Elf, Half-Elf or Human. This is because of the way that the campaign is designed
- You must be honest with the dice rolls. I will be and I expect you to, just because I can't see you roll doesn't mean that I can't tell when you lie. If you are going to lie about your roll then make it believable

Please note that this is my first time being a GM and it will take a bit of time for me to learn how to be a GM, so please be patient. If you are interested, then leave your name and what type of character you would like to play

If you are accepted, then your character will be represented by a card, most likely of my choosing e.g. a Rogue may be represented by an Invisible Stalker or Royal Assassin where a fighter would be Fabled Hero

If you wish to make a character go to the Paizo Character Generator sight for an easy-made character/tutorial:
http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm

How to Play

Grab a dice set and your imagination as I take you through a fantasy world full of adventure and exitement!
As a part of a group, you will have to go around the world, completing tasks and challenges to ultimately make the world a better place
Your character may determine how you play but that is your choice

Like I mentioned above, leave your name and description of a character if you wish to play

Deck discussion for Pathfinder on Vault!!!!

This will be interesting. First off, would you be willing to play with someone with no experience at Pathfinders, however I have played D&D 4e (Like board and die with real people, not some video game).

Also, is there an age limit? Cuz I'm 15.

If I can play, I will likely be a human wizard or rogue, but I don't know how to make characters in pathfinders, so if you could direct me to a site that could teach me how that would be great.

No age limit at all. Also you can play BOTH! Pathfinder has a thing how you can multi-class, which is best described as combining two of Ravnica's Guilds

Cannon fodder reporting for duty.

I have absolutely no experience at Pathfinders, but I will give this a shot. Don't worry ... I learned to play Magic and Warhammer 40K just by reading the rules and looking up tutorials on youtube. Plus, I played a little D&D years ago. It's not perfect, but at least I won't be a TOTAL noob.

Just to honor my father's Diablo days, I choose to be a Human Barbarian. As I am an American and a beginner, I think that suits me well. Oh, and please call me Leroy. Leroy Jenkins. ;)

I'll go look up the rules now.

Barbarian ain't my cup of tea (sorry dad!) and half elf will help with aging.

Ok. All I need now is to see your stats and abilities...
If you list them in a deck description/how to play I can evaluate and what-not to help you

Also, I will now need an idea for a back story

Elves are pointy eared b******s sometimes ... especially to other races. Especially half-elves. Especially half-evles who take after the human side of the family.

So long story short, my character put his slowed aging process and human stubbornness to work serving as a mercenary.

And ... I will be back with the rest of the stuff later tonight.

More about Wildrceth:
Born to a reclusive group of elves, Wildrceth had no idea who his true parents were. He was made fun of, not only because of his human lineage, but also due of his total lack of skill with a bow and magical ineptness. He left his "home" at 9 years of age, and never looked back. In his travels, he learned to live off the land and and wield the fighter's best friends - the sword and shield. He fed his interest in dungeoneering in conversation in bars throughout the world, and knows quite a bit. He is eager to try his own hand at slaying monsters and plundering treasure.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whew .... that took a while. Your link was a lifesaver!

I couldn't find the locked gauntlet on the character creator. For reference, I used this link ...

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/

... to determine my character's age, maximum age, and starting wealth randomly. He is 25 years old, will kick the bucket at 159 years, and started with 190 GP. I think I spent around 160 GP on all that equipment, weaponry, and armor. What can I say ... I'm a boy scout!

I would like to know how to build a wizard. I tried already and failed miserably

0
Posted 26 July 2014 at 04:38

Wizards are a bit harder. You'll need to still do the whole character creation but you'd then need to decide an amount of spells to start with. Also, Wizards need more Intelligence than anything but I haven't played a Wizard yet. I mainly play Rogues and I have played a Sorcerer but that was a pretty short while

I will try to check up on that and let you know

0
Posted 27 July 2014 at 22:58

Oh ... one more thing. I checked, and I have martial weapon efficiency ... so that's a longsword, not a mace. :)

Sorcerers look pretty awesome ... especially with bloodlines. Being half-angelic is way cooler than being a cleric ... 'cause you get wings! If only it affected aging!

I think that wizards are most effective as item creators. They can craft wands and staffs and scrolls for non-magic users to wield, plus they might craft a Golem ... and those things are awesome. I think the coolest part of being a mage is having a familiar.

0

WelI, I like having control of the battlefield, plus I like magic. So wizard is my style. Same reason I play mainly blue in MTG.

0
Posted 28 July 2014 at 05:31

Hmm ... take improved counterspell, then. Think of Golems as walking anti-magic. :)

As for battlefield control ... the abjuration school is heavy on defense, while the illusion school is obviously what Jace is a part of. ;P

Necromany also deals with summoning and controlling undead beings but you then start turning into a skeleton yourself

As for the Sorcerer Bloodlines, they are great to think up of race combinations! I have a Drow sorcerer ofthe Abyssal bloodline and it works amazingly

0

You WOULD bring up necromancy. :)

I want to take the solar bloodline sometime ... because infinite good maneuverability flying is insanely awesome.

0

What? I play with a necromancer...
In that game, I'm a Shadowdancer. I was thinking that you can control enemy movements with undead creatures

That's more or less an idealism to base my decks on... and 40K armies. Ok, a lot of things
I like death and destruction just not really being a necromancer. I'm more like Ezio than Xathrid Necromancer

0

And I'm more like the "Stay Puft" marshmallow man than Gideon Jura! Your point? :)

0

My point is that I stay hidden and kill you when no-one can see/hear you not everyone dies and I resurrect them as zombies

0
Posted 29 July 2014 at 00:01

How diabolical! Your necromancy turns foolish recruits against the more powerful foes that might give you trouble.

And my point is I charge straight in the front door confidant that the enemy lacks two giant-ass graham crackers and all the chocolate they can get. :)

0
Posted 29 July 2014 at 05:34

Um, sorry I was busy. So I haven't had lots of time. Still have lots of questions though. First off what level are we gonna be? Also, I don't know how to build stats for either Sorcerer or Wizard. Lastly, I don't understand the skill points system.

0
Posted 29 July 2014 at 05:57

Hmm ... intelligence is key.

Skill points ... go to skills. When you perform a check with that skill, you get a bonus from the related base stat (+0 at 10) and from the number of levels you have in that skill (+1 per level) AND if that skill is a class skill (+3).

Feats and Class Extraordinary Abilities and Race Modifiers can also affect your skills.

Then ... you roll a 20 sided die and add all your bonuses to it. If that number is = or < the difficulty of the test ... you pass!

0
Posted 29 July 2014 at 06:02

The main thing with skills is how they can help you throughout the game. For example; if you have put 3 ranks into the stealth skill, then you get +3 to it. Then if it's a class skill you get an extra +3 automatically.
Your stats also affect skills and things like combat. You add your bonus/penalty to your skills; Bluff goes off Charisma while Perception goes off Wisdom

0

ok. I just didnt understand what some of the skills were. I did understand how they worked.
