Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A revised version of my "Dimir Dementia" deck, that recieved a not-so good public opinion, this deck has more mill spells and less creatures

How to Play

Same as before, build a graveyard and play the Aberrations. Your cipher spells will trigger Aberration's ability and it will all start again
Now, based on certain (most) play senarios, Rogue's Passage is now in to help your OP Aberrations hit your opponent for lethal in one go

Deck discussion for Dimir Dementia 2

What!? No Mirko!? Frowny Face. It would go great in this deck!

OOPS! I forgot all about him, what should I replace for him?

I don't know, but I still dislike the deck.
ONLY because of the mill. In my opinion, mill is cowardly and an unfair way to win.

Mirko is now in! Don't be hatn' mill, be hatn' the cards you need that were lost!

Cowardly and unfair..?? It's a more strategic way to win. As for the deck, I'd make it more control based. Most decks out there that have mill in it don't use mill as the main win condition but it is one of their win conditions. Nephalia Drownyard SHOULD be in here as well as Jace, Memory Adept. The deck would probably work better if you made it Esper. Your sideboard should have at least 1 card that could get rid of artifacts and enchantments cause if someone plays Witchbane Orb on you then your entire deck is pretty much dead.

The deck is PURE Dimir, sorry. The only red is because of the Entering, which there is no way I use it unless it was in my proper Grixis deck. How would an Esper mill help by the way, since the deck is labled Dimir mill

Mill is not strategic at all.
However, I do respect what I call 'return milling', which is returning cards to the top of the library, and THEN milling them off. That is tactical, and makes sense. Also, it is funny when they rage at you.
THAT is respectable mill.

And.....
Esper is awesome. Thank you for mentioning it.

How long have you been playing man..? I'm going to assume not long for you to say Mill is "not strategic". Esper works better because it gives mill the control it needs to do it's job. You'll have access to Supreme Verdict to clear the field of aggro, Terminus does this as well. Oblivion Ring and Detention Sphere can be used, Azorius Charm, but the card that will help you the most is Sphinx's Revelation. Mill can burn it's hand quickly so you need card draw to keep it going and name a card that does it better than Sphinx's Revelation.

Playing for about a year and a half..... and mill is not strategic. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, so stop trying to convince me mill is a good 'strategy'.
Also, the deck could really use some more creatures, and probably less spells anyway. What if you added some more Flying to it?

Read over the comments of Dimir Dementia. THAT one was more creature based. It recieved so much negative attention, the first real comment I slandered an azorius player and dared him to make better!

Suit yourself, you're entitled to your own opinion but a year and a half in magic isn't long. Hopefully you'll see how awesome mill is against your average deck. Also the deck list for your deck and Dimir Dementia wasn't that different. The problem I see with both decks is they don't have much spot removal. Quick aggro decks like Naya Blitz or Bant Auras will have the game won before your deck gets going. Control decks might give you some issues but you got the counters to maybe hold them off. Problem is that they would board in Witchbane Orb, Psychic Spiral, and/or Jace, Memory Adept to counter mill you.

What could go in this deck then, without changing the colours of true Dimir, to make it less vulnerable to aggro

Average deck? Really?
Why don't you try making a professional deck for once?
Like Rakdos. Rakdos is fun.

Or you could make Esper. Esper works great, especially if you focus on Flying, which I'm sure you will agree is a good strategy.
Some people say it isn't much of a strategy, but it works well, even bu itself.

Mutilate against aggro?

0

Mutilate if you could make it work. Some spot removal would help as well.

0

Maybe. but being 4 mana could be a problem. Doom Blades are great for spot removal, 2 mana AND standard in M14

-1

True, true. You should get some when they are released (the M14 version).

Combined with consuming aberration(s), that could be a good combination

0

You destroy one of their creatures, AND they mill until a land is lost, which could contain much needed creatures/other spells needed + consuming abberation(s) get at least +2/+2

Well he has every right to.
So maybe you should make a decent deck.
Like my Super Hostile decks (this is a hint to chect them out, as they are apparantly really good according to quite a few people who I am friends with).
And please like them if you think they are good.

Two color decks don't really do that well in this format. The only two color decks I've seen place were Gruul aggro and an Azorius control deck that splashed black producing mana for Nephalia Drownyard. Dimir just doesn't do well on it's own in this block.

Depens on how its build....
Yes there are problems with making Dimir mill, since quite a few of the spells require you to hit them, but it is worth it
Buit as a whole Dimir is pretty useful
