Deck Description

Battle of Wits is a card that no-one would expect you to play, same goes for Treasure Hunt. So..... Why not combine the two?

How to Play

Treasure Hunt out Battle of Wits or Zombie Infestation. If you don't get out Battle of Wits early, then discard with Zombie Infestation and use Elixir of Immortality/Psychic Spiral to put them back into the deck

you might want to change ur lands to a different series, since for some reason ktk lands are priced and other series lands are not, would lower ur estimated value by 40$

It only adds the cost of the lands because there are 200 of them. The deck without most of them is about $30

I would add some tutors b/c you could potentially draw too many lands with treasure hunt making battle of wits useless. Also some counterspells to prevent battle of wits' death. Just friendly suggestions, but good job!

Idyllic Tutor or Beseech the Queen both work really well. Gifts Ungiven would work. The trick here is you need to go off fast or play it as a control deck that runs on tutos. This is supossed to be a budget version of the deck though and if you start plugging a deck full of all these tutors it will get expensive fast.

I like the deck don't get me wrong it's just that if you play test a couple of times you notice that if you don't get treasure hunt you'll just be drawing lands and if you'r playing modern they'll probably eliminate you turn 2-3 so I s
Suggest removing some lands and put in some dig through time, all the tutors you can find, srcy lands, scry cards like dissolve, and you could use that myr card that let's you shuffle you'r library fore one blue?

What about this:
Use Diabolic Tutor, Diabolic Revelation, and maybe like unexpected results. You could by throwing in the green to use it with Bountiful Harvest or other life gain. I understand the need for little spells so treasure hunt works, but if you only have 4 of the card, you will only get it 7/60 games, approximately. But if you use a lot more searches, then when you do use the treasure hunt you will hit a search/wits. So searches don't get in the way, they only help you. You can find other things as well.

Excellent idea!

Here are some tweaks to help make it stellar:

Replace the necessary number of islands and swamps with the following:
Blue/Black lands - four of each type that you can find/afford
4 Ring of Three Wishes
4 Neurok Transmuter
4 Shape Anew
4 Diabolic Revelations

Use the tutors to go get your Rings or use Neurok Transmuter + Shape Anew to get a Ring.

Use your rings or your revelations to find cards of choice in your list above to execute your master plans. :)

One more thing: I'd also hold off on playing any Reliquary Towers until you get your Zombie Infestation out.

P.S.: btw, You still have the Elixers in your description.

Interesting, but how about simply battle of wits, treasure hunt and:

Intuition - Basically a blue tutor

Diminishing Returns - A better solution in case you dig too far that Psychic Spiral in my opinion.

actually that is the point. you "draw" a ton of lands with Treasure Hunt, then discard them to Zombie infestation for tons of tokens. super cheap, and super fast. this deck can kill on turn 4, technically.

You gave me a idea for one of my decks!!! Thanks!

0
Posted 19 January 2015 at 03:19

I try the "Draw Sample Hand" like 10 ten times and it was all like this;
Opening Hand : 7 lands
Next 6-10 turn : 6-10 more lands

So a very high chance you basically do nothing for the first 6-10 turns except putting 1 land each turn.
I think ANY deck can beat that.
You have to be very lucky with this deck in order to win.

Interesting idea but I dont like the decks depending that much on just lucky draws.

Did mulliganing down to 3 or so cards help the odds at all? It's what you should do with this kind of deck if you want to win. Possibly even chance going down to 1.

Not trying to ruin this whole budget-hate, but besides the added cost of the 200+ lands in here, this deck is a budget deck. However in saying that, any deck based arouns Treaure Hunt is because it contains 8-12 actual cards

Also, if you're interested, I will make a not budget (or even very pricey) deck that is good and take back the hot page from budget decks!

Looks like a lot of fun. I really like the combo you could pull off with Treasure Hunt and Zombie Infestation if you get lucky while having that many land cards but you could end up with just drawing a ton of lands and nothing else and then having a very boring game. I'm guessing the strategy with a deck like this is to mulligan until you get a Battle of Wits or a Treasure Hunt. I have a few suggestions:
You may want to take out some lands and add more search and transmute cards to increase the chances of getting the right cards and not being stuck with all lands but then Treasure Hunt won't be as effective if you do get it early.
It might be good to add more cards to shuffle your graveyard back into your library and maybe some cards to sacrifice lands so you could use them as a mana source if you do add in more search cards and still get them to your graveyard and back into your library.
If possible you could switch out some basic lands and add in nonbasic lands to have them for their additional effects in case you don't have Zombie Infestation in play to make good use of discarding the lands and it wouldn't interfere with Treasure Hunt.

At the moment, I am putting any Search cards into the SB for now until I play a few games with it and work out the perfect balance. At the moment, I have a similar version:
http://www.mtgvault.com/s0rinmark0v/decks/the-giants-treasure/
That works with this concept. With this type of seck, luck is the biggest part of the game. This particular deck requires you to be even luckier than a 60 deck counterpart. I am still trying to perfect this particular deck with help from the MTGVault community after posting ot as a joke and seeing what a big sucess it was

If you are generally unlucky with draws in MTG, then DO NOT play this deck

Step 1: Build a 60 card massive mana ramp deck.
Step 2: Add Battle of Wits and Spawnsire of Ulamog.
Step 3: Buy about 200 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre (No Problem ;p)
Step 4: Play Spawnsire of Ulamog (Suck it Fatal Push!)
Step 5: Play Battle of Wits then pay 20 mana with the Spawnsire cast all 200 Eldrazi's (Easy!)
Step 6: All trigger and shuffle back into your library except well, three.
Step 7: Opponent calls judge (Go Figure!)
Step 8: Nitpick the ruling of Spawnsire of Ulamog and argue about how you took a second mortgage out on 200 Eldrazi's for this deck!

Step 3: Distract the Opponent, then put 200 Cheatyfaces into play (Because it's Cheatyface!)
Step 4: Miracle into a Terminus.
