RDW with kiln fiend + distortion strike

I don't think u necessarily need blue in this deck just to splash distortian strike.. ur haste/trample creatures and few goblins should be able to do the trick.. consider searing blaze instead; or splash black to make use of blightning..

searing blaze is ok but i think 4x bolt and 4x stagger is good enough, also you may be overlooking the advantage this has against control over Rb in that it is more resistant to spreading seas. and i think you're underestimating distortion strike, example: swing with ball lightning, blocked by wall of omens, distortioin strike, in response and suddenly instead of taking 2 damage your opponent is taking 7, and the next turn you rebound it onto a goblin guide and swing for 3 or a pumped geopede for 6 (play and trigger a fetchland or play teetering peaks).

I see where ur coming from; black helps a lot in the spot removal department though; splashing a few terminates or doom blades can do wonders against omnath, kor firewalker,....
i agree definately that's why i have a Rb version of this as well, it's just a concept i was exploring and after a few tests with an incomplete deck (only 2 kiln 2 distortion and 1 arid mesa, replaced with 2 geopede, 2 spell pierce, and 3 terramorphic respectively) i really like it. The kiln fiend combo is amazing especially in this deck, supported by staggershock rebounds and distortion strike rebounds (it's ridiculous if you play both in one turn then they rebound adding to whatever you play on the following turn) it's not uncommon for kiln fiend to hit for 11 which results in 13+ damage combined with the rebounding staggershock and you can always use unsummon as spot removal XD but really distortion strike works wonders since it makes your guy unblockable. i've won against an esper control deck having only spent 3 red mana. (kiln fiend, goblin guide, staggershock)
