Deck Description

This is my old Stasis build; my friends were not fans of this deck. Here's how it works, though, it's pretty straight forward.

The idea here is basic U/W permission/prison. Imprint Isochron Scepter with Boomerang so that you can bounce Stasis back to your hand at your opponent's EOT. In the meantime, Isochron serves ridiculous utility as it can be imprinted with Counterspell, Swords to Plowshares, Orim's Chant (which is ridiculously evil), and/or one of the two Tutors for more utility.

The kill condition of the deck comes from one of the two Morphlings. Basically, lock the board down and whittle them down for 5 per turn.

The deck is not fun to play against. And, unlike many other Stasis builds, there is no secondary kill condition which means the game will ALWAYS be long.

If you like this, or want to criticize me further, please feel free to take a look at any of my other decks on the site. Thanks!

Deck discussion for Isochron Stasis v2

First of all: I like the deck and the isochron idea. I would add 4 brainstorm since its a good card and you are running fetches

Very nice, balanced and awesome. Only thing i'd change is -1 stasis (since its gonna be a long game anyway) and +1 counterspell, like a spellsnare, mental misstep or cursecatcher.

its a good deck, could shorten the game by adding a few sera angels in, they have vigilance so wouldn't tap anyway.

Sleep could assist with this "tap" you speak of.

It's built following the Vintage banned/restricted list, but designed for casual.

Hi Rustedbucket,

Oh, how I hate to play against decks like this!!!!!

This type of deck almost made me quit Magic.

Almost creatureless, all control.

Fortunately, Wizards of the Coast started to listen to player's complaints about decks like this and started making cards that can't be countered and creatures with shroud or hexproof or protection blue and now there is Cavern of Soul's that sort of shouts screw blue. But in reality the only good solution I found to stasis decks was a really good solid counter burn deck or my own draw go control deck.

Thanks for bringing back horrible, horrible memories.

I think need to schedule my therapist again ;-))

The main deck is a classic nothing to add or change. Though I probably play with one less Wrath of God and add 1 Enlightened Tutor. And maybe replace 1 Morphling with Snapcaster Mage.

I'd probably add Ratchet Bomb and Surgical Extraction to the the sideboard and maybe Flashfreeze or Leyline of the Void depending on meta-game environment.

Here's my take on abusing Stasis + Chronotog combo

Here's one example of my idea of abusing Isochron Scepter
