Deck Description

Top Deck: June, 2012

Yup, a B/W land destruction deck. I used to run this baby back in the day and it played remarkably well.

Nothing too advanced here, pop lands every turn, stall with Edicts, Swords, and Wrath. Kill condition came in the form of a kicked Desolation Angel (the expression on peoples' faces was priceless).

Vindicate was a pivotal card in this build. It's flexibility is astounding and it's one of those cards people don't anticipate in a LD build. Nothing on the board is safe when you play them.

If you like this, or want to criticize me further, please take a look at some of the other decks I have posted on the site. Any and all constructive comments are much appreciated!

Deck discussion for Desecrated Ground v2

I like this deck. Great form of destruction across the board. Good job.

It is hard comment on improvement for this deck it seems quite lethal. In the older card formats I could see Circle of protection Black or a Protection Black creature like White Knight giving this deck trouble. Diabolic Edict may not be the best choice for removal anymore. I could see Go for the Throat going in that spot or at least as a side board option. To take this deck up a notch a sideboard would be worth the effort. Good luck and comment on my decks please.

im facing a similar deck that my friend plays and this deck is really sick. some things you can consider, im not sure if it will be better for you but it worked for my friend.

for mana base, he plays shock lands instead of cave of koilos.

for spells, he plays 4 hand disruptions spells like inquisiton of kozilek. first turn: dark rit, sink hole inquisition is really a killer

for creatures, he plays 2 world quellers which is really a versatile card. if needed he will choose creatures to remove all creatures and if the board is clear, he would choose lands.

his killer combo: crucible of worlds+stripmine = unlimited land destruction spells - he would tutor whatever he did not draw.

crucible of worlds + world queller or crucible of worlds + armaggedon also works for him in some situations.

Ghost Quarter, it's a land card that also helps destroy land. Just thought it might work here...

I had never seen a BW land destruction and I loved it. I must say Diabolic Edict won't hold off much and, as aforementioned, Go for the Throat will serve you better.

There are Cleansing and Angel of Despair, but I don't think you would want them, because your deck is pretty sift right no. However, I think the pain lands are a little obsolete - they have so many effective dual lands right now. The ones from Innistrad, for example. Evolving Wilds, if you will. Dunno.

Vindicate was an awesome addition. Gotta love its flexibility and straightforwardness.

Thanks for the comment on my deck, as for this one maybe debtor's knell? You can steal other peoples creatures from graveyards, although I'm not sure what you could replace it with.

Actually, Knell could replace an Angel or 2. The mana cost concerns me though, and losing the kicked Armageddon would take getting used to. Definitely something to consider.

Not bad. My only objection would be that if this is played outside of a tournament, you have a responsibility to not be a total dick. That aside, this looks hideously effective.

You could consider adding something like Geth, allowing you to produce other people's creatures. Keeps your creature count low but gives you a large potential for damage.

Haha, thanks for the comment! But if you think this is assy, take a look at my Blue Prison or Isochron Stasis builds. Tats being a dick!

Thanks again!

I'd look at Mother of runes. She's one white cost and the best blocker in the game

Haha, this deck looks really fun. I've always wanted to make a land destruction deck, but could never figure a viable way. Good work, I don't know anything about older cards so, I don't have any suggestions =/
