Deck Description

Updated Sept. 14, 2017

NOTE: This is a casual deck (I am a teacher and sponsor a club at the school I work at). I'm aware it is not legal in any format.

To explain how this works, the combination is Frozen AEther, Stasis, and Chronatog. AEther ensures that everything my opponent plays comes into play tapped, Stasis prevents anyone from untapping, and Chronatog allows me to skip my next turn during my opponent's turn. The win condition comes in the form of decking (frustration) or the Ebony Owl Netsuke.

The deck plays a lot better than I originally anticipated. I can create a soft lock quite easily with the Mastermind, but throwing cards away via Forsaken City is shockingly easy and efficient. Chain of Vapors serves double duty here, preventative bounce on Stasis and/or defense.

Recent changes include more search/dig via Serum Visions and Preordain. Sensei's Divining Top assists as a more permanent form. Thwart has been added to more closely model original concepts with 'alternate cost' counters (they provide land drops to feed Stasis, or discard to feed the Forsaken City.

Should you like this, or want to criticize me further, feel free to look at some of my other builds.

Thanks!

Deck discussion for Blue Prison v4

Geez this deck is evil. If i where trapped with this i would probable forfit before i milled myself. Tough to kill if they have any legendary eldrazi (lose the mill kill) but im sure thats what ebony owls for. Maybe an extract or jester's cap in sideboard. or if they draw a terminus, but i dont think chronatog is really needed, so that wouldn't be too bad.

But a really nice deck

I think the owl is to ensure they can't just save themselves by collecting cards to play and combo off of.

I hate this strategy. It's annoying as fuck. It's very clever anyway, so it's legitimate to win like this. Standstill is a nice card, you could consider using it. Even moreso because you can use it earlier or later and it is an interesting card to use with Ebony Owl Netsuke.

If you want to win by decking them you should consider Howling Mine to speed the process along.
