Deck Description

Normally in today's meta-game when you see UWR, you immediately think Planeswalker control. However, this deck only sports 4 Planeswalkers and that's only for more win conditions. What this deck focuses on is taking care of the opponent's creatures and big spells using burn and counters and then dropping in a Kiln Fiend and boosting the hell out of him for massive damage. Yes, he's vulnerable to a lightning bolt, staggershock, magma spray, etc, but the Emerge Unscathed, Unsummon, and Counters are there to help keep him alive and help boost him. Deft Duelist is there for the sheer annoyance of dropping a 2/1 on turn 2 that your opponent can't target, meaning they'll have to waste an Earthquake or Day of Judgement to take him out. And with 4 in the deck, it can anger them. The fetchlands are there rather than dual lands in order to help thin the deck out and mean I'll be drawing a little less mana keeping me from getting mana flooded and putting me in a generally safe mana situation. When it comes time, Ajani's big Avatar or destroy all lands or a Jace Exile can win the game if Kiln Fiend hasn't done it by then. This deck has proved to be extremely powerful and can consistently beat Jund, RDW, Allies, Polymorph, and even UW on a good day.

The sideboard sports Enchantment removal for the Ascensions and more counters.
