It's a Friday so after FNM there's always a draft to be played, initially was going for W/U fliers; but..... after picking up a bunch counters I felt as bad as an idea as it may well be; to run each one of them and see if control aspects are possible in draft.Anyway somehow it.... well it just plain worked winning my rounds 2-1, 2-1 2-0 sadly (for me at least) one of my mates went 2-0, 2-0, 2-1 so only 2nd place for me.
Ok the main idea is to play a T1 and T2 creature; namely the Mage-Ring Bully, after that it was just a case of keeping the opponent from dropping any threats for a turn or two by counter or the Fiery Impulse, all the while dropping in 3 or more points of damage a turn.Once you hit 5 mana or so in comes one of the haste creatures to drop the opponent to sub 5 life, you'll be tapped out by this stage but if the board has been kept reasonably clear they either won't be able to put enough large creatures to stop all your attackers from doing lethal (particularly if you drop more haste!) and if they drop multiple cheap blockers they'll manly be chump blockers so they only buy them a turn it won't save them.So in short; Creature, creature, counter, counter, haste, win.
