Deck discussion for Hydras Only

what are the summoning traps for? if you search for a hydra and put it into play with no 1/1 counters it will just die...

I know... I originally had only two summoning traps in, but i took out red to make it more consistent, and needed to add 2 more cards so i went with the summoning traps. Sprouting hydra, khalni hydra, phyrexian hydra and hydra omnivore all can be summoned with it. Thats more than half of my creatures. So i think the probability of one of them being in the top seven cards is good. And the opponent is bound to try and counter my early game hydras and then i can summon trap for a khalni kydra or or the like.

I'd love to see another unique tribal deck, there arent enough unique ones though, just huge popular ones like merfolk, elves, goblins, elemental, knights, vampire, zombie and so on, hydra is something very unique, and the deck isnt half as expensive as i thought it would be, id love to see another one similar to this

Haha, thanks for the complement on uniqueness. I do have a mono white cleric deck, and I have a "sacrifice" tribal deck(well 2 of them), but neither of those are too uncommon.

I was working on a "elk/antelope" deck and a sphinx deck. Both of which don't really work out due to mana cost of the creatures. Elks could be pulled off since it would be a green/white deck and mana ramping is easy. But the sphinx deck would be all over the place, which was upsetting. The only reason this deck could could work is because the creatures mana costs very, making the creatures flexible.

But thanks again for the support. If i get a new unique deck going ill let you know.
