If it were me, I wouldn't waste Gatekeeper's ability solely on getting rid of the persecutors. Though that could work.

Nah. Let's say I had 4 Bloodghast in the graveyard. I would only need 1 land drop to bring back all 4 Bloodghast on the field.
Deck looks sweet. The only thing is I would drop the Marsh Flats. This is a mono black deck so fetching shouldn't be necessary. Add 1 Anowon, the Ruin Sage, and you'll have an even 60 cards to pop those Abyssal Persecutors once their job is done. Did this deck win? If not, the these simple mods should take the game further.
Tiny problem. Eldrazi. I ran a deck very similar to this and lost miserably to anyone who ran Emrakul, Ulamog, or the other one (I forgot the name). Since their ability causes that playe to shuffle their graveyard back into the library, milling is pointles. For that reason I keep Ulamog in my sideboard just for mill decks.
I'm thinking scrap the Ranger of Eos for Join the Ranks, that way you can trigger the ally effect at any time and chump block, should the situation arise. Think about it, why spend 3W on a non ally when you can spend 3W for TWO allies that you can practically flash summon? As for your land base, I would personally use 4 Rootbound Crag and 4 Sunpetal Grove in lieu of the manlands and Ancient Ziggurats. Also, since I HATE fetch lands (especially if you're using manabarbs), I would swap those out for Naya Panoramas. One more thing, since this mana curve is on the low side, you should consider dropping two Jungle Shrines for Amulet of Vigor.
Ok, i drastically changed the deck, so now I need some new opinions. Please comment.
Appreciate the comment, mrgoodbytes. I came to the same conclusion after testing it out a few times.
