Deck discussion for Goliaths Disarm Their Davids

Hammerfist Giant can tap to deal 4 damage to each creature without flying and each player. However, the Light of Sanction prevents damage to your creatures from damage by sources you control, which makes the ability kind of one-sided. It looks like a good deck, only thing I have to complain about is that most of your creatures have really high mana costs.:P But you do say your friends hate the deck so it doesn't sound like you have a problem getting your giants out before the game is over.

Oh, I'm almost always on the brink. That's why Loxodon, Feudkiller's, and Greybeard are there. The first game I played, I had 2 life before the deck started up. I had Hamletback Goliath in the deck back then (took him out to make him his own deck), so I wound up with 400+ life.

Light of Sanction is an amazing card but I tried to make my giant deck the best/as fast as it could be while still being Standard legal, it's really tempting to pick up!

not bad, i would like to put this up against my giant deck. try looking for some oath sworn giants to give all your giants +0/+2 and vigilance. if you wanna make ur friends hate this deck more than put some opal titans, hamletback goliath, and epically desolation giant. i can see that u use this deck with giants that deal damage to all opponents with their abilities, but for fun through a soulblast in to wipe out the last person.

I only play casually with my friends in games of at least 3 players, so we don't worry about legality.

I originally had Hamletback in here, but I took him out and built a "Hunted" deck. Hamletback, Boldwyr Heavyweights, Hunted Dragon and such. It's not finished yet, but it's getting there.

All I have to do to gain life is equip Bloodfire or Hammerfist with Loxodon. Last time I did that, it was 4 damage to 20+ creatures plus the players.

me and my friends only play casually also, and we usually have 3 on 3 matches or 5 man free for all. my friends hate when i play opal titan and it was this deck that made me figure how nice soulblast is

i would say that since stoutarm is a legend and you can't play more than 1 of him, go with 4 sunrise soveirgn and 2 stoutarm. other than that it looks pretty sick, although it would probably get wrecked in a 1v1because its so slow.

check my decks out.

Well, my friends and I don't play the single legend on the table rule. It helps games go faster and decks run better. After all, 4 Visara's on the table is pretty much a game ender. And yes, it does get wrecked 1v1 unless I get a sick draw. All I would need to do to operate 1v1 is take out some of the bigger creatures and insert some deck stacking cards.

In my opinion the light of sanctions would protect your creatures from hammerfist. The text say prevent all damage that would be deal to creatures you control by a source you control. Although hammerfist says it deals damage to each creature its a source you control and its dealing dmg to your creatures as well so it would be prevented by that spell.

As for the deck its really nice except you might want to look into red mana accelerations. Seething songs or possibly soulbright kithkin can really boost up your mana. That or have land cycle cards like chartooth cougar. That way you will always have enough mana to summon your guys fast.

I envy you guys being able to play 3v3s and such :/ there arent that many players i can play against where i live.

My friends and I make it a point to play Magic around people who don't play to see who we can get hooked. Back in the day, we used to have 7 way free for alls and now we're lucky to have 3 people, so we're trying to bring some people to the dark side. You might try it.

lol. I don;t know how many parties we've thrown that we talk random people into playing with us. It's just so fun to help them out until they think they understand the game and then just toy with them for the rest of the night. "AH! What am I going to do? I think (insert new person's name here) is gonna win," as I look at two Seething Songs, a Dark Ritual, a Gratuitous Violence, and an Insurrection in my hand.

Hey, Light of Sanction, thats awesome you solved my problem I hate getting the stinkdrinkers out only to have the thundercloud shaman kill them!

Yup. Theres actually a better card now. It's Mark of Asylum. It prevents ALL noncombat damage to your creatures and costs 1 white mana less to play. I'm going to work it into the deck shortly.

I would totally suggest just randomly throwing in inferno titan because he's new and he's awesome... also maybe even consider just throwing in a fling or two (makes for a great kill spell at only 2 mana especially with heavy hitters like these)
