Long ago! Before Zombies came onto the stage so many times they could hardly remember where their limbs fell to. Then again they can't think, so it makes point 1 redundant as hell.
My point is, Skeletons were the classic horror creatures weren't they? Their ever-grinning faces, magically regenerative body and imbued memory of weapon mastery prior their death passed off as creepy for the earlier centuries!
It was until necromancers stopped and think, "Hey, bones alone cannot let them chew down on flesh, and they cannot rely on weapons all the time! They need to fight weaponless to be efficient!"
That was the day Zombies came into the spotlight and Skeletons stood aside, clapping sadly as their grins became frowns.
But here I am, ready to give these poor forgotten horror creatures a chance!
Please welcome the frightening teeth chattering Skeleton Crew!
Skeletons specializes in Regenerative abilities, unlike most other creatures (except for Trolls and Snakes), they can regen without the help of enchantment auras and such. This makes them a two-in-one goodie bag of bones.
Regeneration removes damage, therefore it lets you survive Infect creatures!
Alright, let's go for a walkthrough
ARTIFACT!
Ward of Bones - 6 drop that basically tells your foes, if I have 5 lands and you have more? YOU CANNOT PLAY LANDS. Same is true for Enchantment, Creatures and Artifacts. (DAMN! WHY NOT PLANESWALKER? TROLOLOLOL)
Strata Scythe - 3 drop and equip for 3! Imprints a land, and equipped creature gets +1/+1 for each land with the same name on the field. Pretty GOOD!!!
CREATURES
Augur of Skull - 2 drop that regens for 2, it also can be sacrificed (ONLY DURING YOUR UPKEEP) to have target player discard 2 cards. Use this with Undying evil.
Crypt Ghast - 4 drop for a mana rate of tap 1 swamp = 2 black mana. I use him mostly for the abundance in mana. Besides that, he can help with the extort too.
Drudge Skeletons - 2 drop for a 1/1 with tap {B} to regen, good little soldier!
Duty-Bound Dead - 1 drop for 1/1 with Exalted! See Bant? You ain't the only ones who can solve conflicts through ritualized combat! It has 4 mana for regen too.
Grim Roustabout - 2 drop for 1/1, has unleash, meaning it comes in with the choice of holding a +1/+1 counter or not, if it doesn't, then it's just the way it is, if it does, it will not be able to BLOCK. Tap 2 for regen.
Skeletal Wurm - There isn't really a King in this deck, but if you're looking for a finishing blow, you can consult this Wurm.
ENCHANTMENTS
Underworld Connection - Mono Black, please make use of this as a staple resource!!
Vampiric Link - Helps you amass the life that you lost through combat or Underworld Connection.
INSTANT!
Undying Evil - Some of the Skeletons are really unreasonable with their regen cost, so this is an alternative. Used for Duty-Bound Dead or to save Crypt Ghast, either of this will be ideal.
SORCERY!
Bone Splinters - Ouch, the name of it is enough to make me feel the pain... Sacrifice a creature, destroy another creature. FOR 1 MANA! Then play Undying Evil to save your Sacrificed Skele!
DAT LAND!!
Leechridden Swamp - comes in tapped, does the same production as any good swamps would. But you can tap {B} and the land itself to have each opponent lose 1 life. Play this ability only if you have 2 black permanents or more; which I don't think why you wouldn't!!
Shit that SIDEBOARD!
Death Baron - Yes, OP with a Skeleton/Zombie deck. Cool Art... yeah yeah whatever... Unfriendly price...
