Deck Description

This deck was inspired by Northerwarlord's deck:

Starter Budget: Trinity #1 by NorthernWarlord
http://www.mtgvault.com/northernwarlord/decks/starter-budget-trinity-1/

I modified it heavily, mainly adding in more synergistic creatures and keeping most spells as permanents under 3 cost that can either be gotten back by auramancer, suntitan, or emeria.

I still wanted to keep things budget and while this went a few dollars over the initial $20 limit I figure it's still budget enough (especially since I managed to find most of the cards in a 10 cent bargain box)

How to Play

This deck is simple at first glance but against really adept players requires a bit more forethought.

The basic idea is play your weenies and play them fast, buff them up with enchantments using the right ones at the right time. This deck excels at the early game and even has major late game recovery, but middle game is its weaker point especially if the creatures get knocked off.

There's no real board control, you're just a threat.

The best turn one is to play Favored Hoplite then turn two play glaring ages or Ordeal of Heliod (nice thing about heliod is it can go off turn 3 giving you a nice big life advantage). You could tag on another glaring ages or ethereal armor instead BUT that tend to be a bad idea.

Here's a simple rule of thumb: DON'T put all your eggs into one basket. This is true as much as playing your creatures as it is buffing them up. Yes, you want your creatures out fast and quickly but avoid playing every creature, keep a few reserved, just incase of a board wipe. (if you see none coming then feel free)

But the major thing to avoid is do NOT throw all your enchantments on one monster. You'll be tempted, especially with the heroic abilities triggering or having it buff up the double striker. BUT DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN THE MONSTER WONT DIE. Pentarch ward may give you a bit of that certainty but just make sure.

It always sucks to have that one creature you depend on getting nicked off the field and leaving you with no more answers.

Make ALL your creatures a threat, not just one.
