How to Play

Get a Stuffy Doll onto the field, pop an Illusionist's Bracers onto him. Spread his passive abilities onto all of your monsters, most importantly your Ætherling(s). Hit the Ætherling with Stolen Identity. And win..

How do you define an activated ability? Indestructible is only activated when you take damage, and the damage that is done in retribution is also only activated when you are attacked and take damage.

Indestructible isn't activated. Its more of an attribute than an ability, like flying or trample. An activated ability is one that you chose to activate, like taping gyre sage for mana

That can't be right because that would mean that only abilities that aren't capable of being copied would be copied.. Things like Indestructible are inactive when the creature comes into play because it does nothing unless it is activated by incoming attacks.

Stuffy doll's "Tap: deal one damage to itself ability" is an activated ability, but its other abilities are TRIGGERED abilities. Except for its indestructible ability, which is a static ability

If it does in fact work like that then the wording is extremely poorly written because it states exactly "whenever an ability of equipped creature is activated, if it isn't a mana ability, copy that ability." Just based on that description, a triggered ability is still an ability none the less, and it is being activated whenever it triggers.

^ Works for FNM. And was allowed exactly how RocKon posted it. Thanks for this deck, was just free win after free win.

I was just reading the mtg salvation wiki, and I found that a triggered ability triggers, not activates, so your combo doesn't work

Hmm, well.. I guess it is sometimes allowed, and sometimes not? <--- This guy's confused.

Illusionist's Bracers work only with activated abilities. You can see them by looking for "Cost:Effect". For Stuffy Doll, only the 1 damage is an activated ability (Tap:1 damage). The Bracers will allows you to use the Effect part another time without needing to pay the cost part.
