The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

My first deck was Green White so I wanted to go back to my "roots" and see what I've learned after playing magic for a few months. I wanted to create a new Green White deck.

It goes without saying that my first deck literally sucked. But hey, I was a noob back then right? Probably I'm still a noob in Magic lol ;).

The result is that it became a Combo Deck with the central card Phytohydra. The goal is to build his strength up via Lure and Pariah. Pariah also has the function of protecting my lifepoints while building the strength of Phytohydra.

After Phytohydra is strong enough I use Overwhelming Stampede to, well, overwhelm my opponent.

Phytohydra can almost deal with anything except cards like Doom Blade or Journey to Nowhere. So I wanted to protect him with Lightning Greaves.

The deck is limited by budgetary reasons so you won't find expensive cards in here. For instance Temple Garden is really usefull in this deck but too expensive.

Deck discussion for Phytohydra Combo

nice deck.

is there a place for cards such as Watchwolf or Kitchen Finks? both are pretty solid cards and fit your deck well.

other spells such as Armadillo cloak are brilliant in your deck's colours, and can swing the game.

one last thing. instead of cultivate, go for sakura-tribe elder. it's a land-grab spell with a body. very useful!

Thx for the tips!

Yeah I was doubting between armadillo cloack and shield of the oversoul. I decided for the latter because I wanted something that was anti-flying. Maybe I should reconsider, don't know :).

As for Watchwolf: I aggree it's a pretty solid 2 drop for a 3/3 but it is just a 3/3. in my opinion there are more usefull cards.

And yes I really would like to have Kitchen Finks in my deck but it costs about 4 euro (that's 5,63 USD). Little expensive for me ;).

And I choose Cultivate because it can grab 2 lands :p.

But glad you like my deck :) since I'm still a rookie in my opinion :)

Changed Gerrard's Command for Armadillo Cloack. A long time power boost is more usefull in this deck I think :).

yeah looking good. armadillo cloak is amazing because you can also play it on your opponent's creatures, effectively rendering them useless or even gaining you life if they are forced to block.

in multiplayer it's a bomb as well. stick it on someone else's creature and then watch with a smile as the other players destroy themselves and you gain loads of life. =P.
