Taking out the Soldiers of the Pantheon. Not being able to target them with Bioshift has proven to be a significant handicap in more than a couple of games.

Mainboard Dispel instead of Flusterstorm. You need a hard-counter for Fog spells. I would say Guttersnipe is too slow for this deck. Wild Defiance or Cyclops are much better 3rd-turn plays, and you don't want too many 3-drops in a deck that can win as fast this this can. Fling and/or Flesh // Blood would fit well, methinks. One Giant Growth on Kiln Fiend or Cyclops with a Wild Defiance in play, attack for 10, Fling or Blood for 10 more damage. Any time you can turn 3 mana into 20 damage, you should do that.

Lovely concept, in any case. The deck is perfectly nasty just like it is if you keep it that way.

I use d10s in my Heroic decks (and often have to double-up), but this kind of chicanery calls for d20s or even percentage dice. Nuts. Pure nuts.

And because of the wording on Bioshift ("any amount of counters"), you get to pump up your heroes before declaring how many counters are moved. This way, you can play Bioshift, add counters, respond by playing another instant on one or both heroes, add counters, then decide how many to move from target 1 to target 2.

Keep in mind that you do have to declare which is the supplier and recipient of the counters when Bioshift is cast, not when it resolves.

Update: This plays much smoother with Bioshifts in place of Warriors' Lesson. I am LOVING this deck, but it is no fun to play against. Thank goodness for patient friends who are willing to help playtest it.

You're right that the new Ajani would fit in well here. Once you remove 4 of the 8 Druid's Deliverance, you'll have room for him, too! ;)

Add another card to the mix, and it's not TOO tough to set up:

1. Play Sage of Hours
(The rest COULD be done before the opponent's next turn, but would realistically take longer )
3. Play Sunbond on Sage of Hours
4. Play Ajani, and +1 Ajani, giving Sage the counters.
(Opponent gets no more turns after this point)
5. Play Ordeal of Heliod on Sage, and attack. Sac the Ordeal. (Sage now has 15 +1/+1 counters)
6. Take three extra turns, during which you +3 Ajani, giving Sage 9 +1/+1 counters.
7. Take an extra turn, during which you +1 Ajani.
8. Ultimate Ajani. You gain 100 life, Sage gets 100 counters, and you can take infinite extra turns.
9. Laugh maniacally while you can , cause it might never happen again.

I like the concept a lot, and would HATE to play against this deck.

This card, which was spoiled recently, would be a good fit for the sideboard, possibly even main deck:

Wasn't really suggesting it for this deck; it just got me excited. I think it's the only way to get infinite turns in Standard (like there needs to be more than one).

Ajani, Mentor of Heroes provides another fun option. Use his ultimate while a Sonbonded Sage of Hours is in play... Take 20 extra turns. Could be infinite turns if you wait till loyalty 9.

Do you think there's any room here for Pili-Pala? That plus Training Ground and Paradise Mantle would provide infinite mana of any color. I'm really loving this concept, btw. If it ends up working in the Modern meta After Nyx is released, I might just have to eat Ramen for a couple of weeks. (Sage Seer is going to be a $40+ card for sure).

@SeanDavies - I changed it up. It's W/U/g now, take a look.
@Drakeraenes - loving that Gilder Bairn combo. The same thing also works with Pili-Pala (infinite mana of any color) and Hateflayer (infinite damage, 5 at a time). Also, some other equipment has infinite combos with Pili-Pala, assuming Training Ground is in play.

Crazy fun to play against. Maybe a few dual lands would smooth out your mana situation?

Nice deck! If anyone wants to solidify the deck a bit, and doesn't mind doubling the cost, they could run 4x Temple of Deceit instead of Jwar Isle Refuge.

Here's a quickly-made deck based around that idea. The Bioshifts are a questionable inclusion. It's tricky to do a G/W heroic instant buff deck, since some of the best buff is through the Bloodrush ability. No spell is cast, so no heroic abilities trigger :(

See what you think, and maybe get some ideas.

Any deck with a Khalni Hydra AND Primalcrux is required to run 4x Aspect of Hydra. It is written.

There's only room for a little bit of instant buff in a deck like this. It's not just creature-heavy; it's important for the same creatures to stay on the battlefield for a few turns, so protecting them takes priority over beefing them up for quick damage. In this case, Selesnya Charm is filling the role the Giant Growth would fill, as well as providing more utility.

I have a similar deck, myself, and if things go right, a measly 3 more damage isn't worth the card slot. These dudes can get BIG.

The original creator of this deck has updated it on the site where it was originally posted. If you're not that person, you should link to it, or at least give proper credit. (Even the deck description is lifted word-for-word. Come on, man.)
