Pox deck is derived from the card Pox and Smallpox. This is a control deck which attacks the manabase as well as the hand. Unless you're able to maintain board control from the beginning of the game, you will most likely loose. The challenge is to strangle your opponents options before you run out of cards
Poor Match Ups:- Reanimator, as the deck doesn't rely much on mana and cards like smallpox becomes more dangerous then helpful. If Iona hits the table, it is game over. Pox most likely loose game one, and then mulligan until it hits Leyline for game 2/3.- Death and Taxes as it is extremely fast and can utilize Aether Vial to play around lack of mana and the sacrificing abilities of Liliana/Smallpox/Innocent Blood.- Pox struggle with Jund if it can't prevent the card advantage from Dark Confidant, and mana ramp from Deathrite. Since Jund is heavy green, I've added Perish in the sideboard.- Pox struggle with Batterskull from Stoneblade. I included Sadistic Sacrament which I hope can remove Batterskull before Stoneforge can put it on the table. Not tested Sadistic Sacrament yet, but with a dark ritual it can goremove Batterskull in round 1.Good Match Ups:- U/W Miracle, as Pox hinders the deck to ramp up mana for Entreat. And since Miracle is a reactive deck, it struggles against too much hand disruption. Hymn is really devestating here.- Enchantress, as Pox takes out those enchanted and special lands. Also, Enchantress is not protected against Smallpox/Liliana/Innocent Blood- OmniShow as Pox takes out the mana base required for Dream Halls. That only leaves Show and Tell as a threat, which you can take out with hand disruption. Chains is a great way to stop OmniShow. Shuts down Brainstorm, Gitaxian, Ponder and Enter the Infinite. - 12-Post which for obvious reasons are never able to ramp up enough mana. This is probably my easiest match-up.
