Deck Description

I'm currently running this as my Standard Deck as of 3/14/2012. Some of the initial influences on this build were Conley Wood's decklist from Grand Prix Orlando and Mamoru Nagai's Dark Ascension Pro Tour deck. Other influences include comments to this deck list here and elsewhere, and my many personal games with folks like TheDoctor10119. This Deck is super fun to play and it definitely stands on it's own. Feel free to make suggestions or +1 if you like how it's coming along. Thanks!

Base Gameplay:

T1-Land

T2-Land, Rampant Growth, Sphere of the Suns, Ratchet Bomb.

T3-Land, Rampant Growth, Sphere of the Suns, Solemn Simulacrum, Glissa, the Traitor, Phyrexian Metamorph, Thrun, the Last Troll or Batterskull. Otherwise board wipe with Ratchet Bomb or Black Sun's Zenith.

T4-Land, Once again you could board wipe with Ratchet Bomb or Black Sun's Zenith, otherwise cast Primeval Titan, Grave Titan, Batterskull or Wurmcoil Engine. If you've played 2 Rampant Growth and a Sphere of the Suns by now you can also cast a T4 Rune-Scarred Demon.

Obviously the main weakness of the deck is artifact removal, but there is Glissa, the Traitor and Buried Ruin to bring artifacts back out of the graveyard. Also, if an opponent is playing alot of removal tactics or a Grafdigger's Cage, you have all the different Mimic Vat combos to work with.

You have to make sure you use the mass removal spells like Black Sun's Zenith and Ratchet Bomb ALL THE TIME (this is especially critical in the early turns) since Black Sun's Zenith cycles back into your library and Ratchet Bomb can always be retrieved from the graveyard. This deck only needs to make it to T4 before you can drop the big bombs and start gaining life with Batterskull or Wurmcoil Engine.
