Deck Description

Hello Everybody! First a little background. I started playing MTG when it was still in Beta. I played for awhile through unlimited and into such expansions as Fallen Empires. After that, I didn't play for years and have only gotten back into the game in the last 8-10 months. Obviously, The community and playing rules have completely changed since I initially played the game, and now I am in the process of learning the game again and attempting to become an effective player. This is my attempt at a Standard Black Deck(even though it's splashed with Green), that I want to bring to FNM. I've really tried to figure out a good synergy to this deck, but I feel that I am still a novice to some of the ways and rules of how modern MTG is played. I'm gonna post the deck list and some explanations of how I see things together, so that I can possibly get a few reviews or some advice from the community. Thanks for taking your time to check this out!! :)

[[Phyrexian Obliterator]] + [[Prey Upon]], [[Deadly Allure]] or [[Lashwrithe]] to force destroy opponents permanents and trample for major damage.

[[Vault Skirge]] as an early drop + [[Lashwrithe]] to gain life and fly over ground forces for big hits.

[[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed]] + any of the cards, but especially [[Wurmcoil Engine]] for multiple Wurmcoil instances.

[[Gravecrawler]] is so cheap and so perfect for [[Deadly Allure]], (since there are enough zombies in this deck that he can keep being cast out of the graveyard).

[[Phyrexian Crusader]] as an additional zombie for my [[Gravecrawler]]'s. Also is perfect for [[Lashwrithe]] when playing vs red or white.

[[Liliana of the Veil]] helps control the game and can make a BIG difference in a variety of scenarios. Also I can discard creatures for my [[Mimic Vat]].

[[Go for the Throat]] is there to take out any pesky creatures including those in black decks. (That means I can kill my own creatures that have been enchanted by cards like [[Pacifism]] or [[Bonds of Faith]]. After that, I can just import them into my [[Mimic Vat]]) .

[[Mimic Vat]] allows creatures like [[Phyrexian Obliterator]] or [[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed]] to keep coming out indefinitely if they get destroyed. Also, since the cards are exiled, I can bypass [[Grafdigger's Cage]].

As far as land is concerned, I only have one [[Forest]] in the deck so I can keep my [[Swamp]] numbers up for [[Lashwrithe]]. I can search for it with [[Evolving Wilds]] if I don't get a [[Woodland Cemetery]] early on for my [[Prey Upon]], or the flashback of my [[Deadly Allure]]. Also, if I already have a green mana out, I can search for another [[Swamp]] with [[Evolving Wilds]] to keep my black cards fully funded.
