Just a classic style merfolk deck that we played before the grand merfolk hipe that was raised when lorwyn was out. I just focused on some mayor skills merfolk has had in the early days on getting arround an opponents defense. With except of the Lord and Reef Shaman, every creature could fly or become flying to shift arround enemy creatures
Merfolk has had another mayor skills in the early days not relying on getting 20 and more lords out to overrun the enemy rather than be tricky and getting unblockable on other ways like flying to continously treat the opponent. One important card is Sigil of Sleep that lets us flush away anoying creatures of the field where Rootwater Thief steals important cards out of an opponents library.Lord of Atlantis is still a very good supporter card helping us to beat the enemy by powering our creatures and give additional unblockability to them in combination with Reef Shaman. I choose Reef Shaman because it could also give a Mountain to the opponent so we were able to get out some Legate for free.Additional Support is granted by a small counter base and Propaganda that helps us keeping anything away from our live points on early game where Coastal Piracy helps us in later turns drawing additinoul cards we need. One tricky thing is Mask of the Mimic, one of my favorite spells. It could instantly be cast on one of our creatures, just dying for example to get a copy of some other creature. Exchange Manta Rider for a Lord sounds good isnt it?
