Deck Description

taking advantage of the versatility of the allies.

splinter twin on...well basically anything! extra ally every turn, double milling, life loss, gain, or protection! also adds those +1+1 counters pretty quickly!

warp world- beast in ally decks, all abilities stack on at once...last time i milled for 200+ cards and made him lose over 70 life...simultaneously :P able to get it off on turn 4!

please rate!

(also mtgfanatic prices this deck at $43...not bad when it holds up to $500 decks lol)

Hmm, wonderful Ally deck. It would be a great challenge vs. my Sliver deck. However, I've never lost with my slivers before so I don't know how it would turn out in the end.

i may have to proxy your deck and play someone. of course that shouldnt give us a definitive answer, as it is your deck and you know how to play it best.

Thanks for commenting on my ally deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=61424)! A couple questions about yours:

1) Do you find that you use Warp World very often? Maybe it's just the decks I've played so far, but I find that my games -- win or lose -- are usually over by about turn six.

2) Why the Khalni Gem? Why only one? Have you tried playing more than that? Very curious.

haha no problem!

1. I use the harabaz druids for extra mana, generally once out ill play at least 2 allies a turn. consequently, all that mana can be used theoretically to trigger off a warp world by turn 4.
(t1 - land hada freeblade. t2 - land harabaz druid. t3. land any two 2 drops and hada. t4 -you have 8 mana)
my last standard tournament with this deck i managed a warp world on turn 5. opponent lost 50 life lol

2. the khalni gem...this is a little harder to explain lol. i did initially play with two however i have just dropped it to one for the sake of keeping the deck at 60 cards. If i do manage to draw it, due to the high number of 2drop allies i use, i play the gem, then use that to play an ally. its a little weird, but i find that the extra mana is useful...more playing will determine whether or not i keep it. also i tend to have a splinter twin in my hand for a little while, the khalni gem helps get that out.

Ah! I'd overlooked the Harabaz Druids. Don't have any of those myself, but would love to get some. Glad you pointed that out.

Khalni Gem makes more sense now -- thanks. Have to try that sometime...

Hey, finally got around to judging the T2 Five-Color deck challenge. Here's the results, if you're still interested in checking them out.

http://forums.mtgvault.com/showthread.php?p=8892#post8892

Your deck came in first for the challenge, despite the high rare count (and the low-cost stipulation I threw in for added challenge) I appreciated that this is a real deck, and not just designed with a lot of rares for the sake of winning the challenge.

My five-color ally deck just got spanked by early removal, Day of Judgement, and Spreading Seas. Buddy of mine built something for the express purpose of frustrating me, I think. =) You have any successful strategies for dealing with that sort of heavy, control-oriented thing?

lol I havent found anything in standard yet to help out. the only thing that i've found useful against decks like that is sideboard a LOT of blue allies lol. as for DoJ, dauntless escort seems to be the general consensus, however im hoping for something that wont take up my creature slots :P

honestly with any deck build, if someone builds specifically against your deck, they are going to win. last tournament I played in some guy played an anti-ally deck...crushed me! but he also lost every other game, and I won every other one lol.

just remember this all should change once everything rotates....it'll be a whole new game.

p.s. thanks!

Dauntless Escort is a great suggestion. Traded my only copy to the guy who's currently spanking me with the UW control, unfortunately. But yeah -- basically going to ignore it for now...I'm happy to keep beating on his other decks. Just sad to see my champ go down.

I laugh when people get worried about DoJ or any other wipes like AV or things like that. If you just throw an Emrakul, Kozilek or Ulamog into your decks....just one....you don't have to worry about that creature wiping. If you're running allies and you're worried about creature wiping....then once a large number of your creatures get wiped all to hell, you can either start milling yourself so that when it hits Graveyard you get it all back into your library, or you can start playing Regenerate, a small green instant. Or you can start running 4 Dauntless Escorts in your SB...but that eats cards fast.

Also, SUPER CONGRATS on winning that challenge :)

i completely agree! sure I dont have much evasion (apart from splinter twin or join the ranks/evangel combo)...but this deck works just fine without it. sure they'll wipe the field, but if you're playing right, you should have plenty of land and a decent hand to start up again immediately.

thanks! this deck has taken me extremely far, especially considering the fact that its 5 colors and allies lol. glad to see it gets some appreciation. :)

Hey Rintintin, I have a bad eye for formats...so I'm assuming that you run this standard, right? I'm just curious if you've thrown it into FNM standard or if you've done any really competitive play with it. Just curious.

yea it's standard, I've taken it to about 7 FNM's in various places, as well as a couple legit tournaments. With the current deck build (It has gone through a LOT of changes) I have finished at least in 6th every time, though usually I place higher.

Never faced another ally deck yet, though I have beaten jund, vamps, blue/white control (sideboard lots of blue lol). only deck that has successfully given me problems every time are decks that are designed for taking out heavy creature decks, lots of early removal, little guys to wear me down, etc. though ususally they dont go to the top, just drag me down with them lol.

I am planning on going to as many as possible now, with the rotation coming around, Im not sure how it will hold without warp world and the ancient ziggurats...hopefully m11 or scars will provide an answer

how can you make an opponent lose life with warp world O.o... i dont get it

warp world into a hagra diabolist with any number of allies is usually devastating.

for example, a couple lands, a hagra diabolist and 4 other allies hit the board from warp world.
because all of the allies see each other enter play, their abilities stack up differently than they would normally. with 5 allies, hagra's ability would trigger 5 loss of life per ally for a total of 25.

this guy came up with a formula for it, just scroll down a bit and you'll get the idea :)

looks really good. i would only suggest maybe taking out some of your "1 ofs" to get more multiples of your more favored cards. Also if its not budget, which i think you mentioned it is but ill comment anyway, would maybe to add some duel lands if you can get your hands on em. that would help a bit with the mana base. good deck, thanks for the comment on mine also! :D

So many one-ofs! It's not a bad thing, just means that my suggestions becomes a lot less useful. My friend runs an ally deck with harabaz druid and Clarion Ultimatum, to devastating effect,

lol yea...the one-ofs seem a tad...bad on paper. the deck is actually very solid, I have actually won several local tournaments with this. those little extra cards are mostly just for added fun. which is what I aim for when playing...not just winning lol.
