canopy cover would do well here, as it would give your bloodthrone some evasion. making sure it connects with the opponent once pumped should ensure you the win. the troll shroud helps as well.

thanks for the comment! I chose to keep vengevine as it has the recurring theme that I am aiming for, as well as haste. Although it is indeed less significant without the cascade ability, I have found this deck managing well without it. plus I am trying to keep this in these two colors, as well as avoiding shards as much as I can. (maelstrom pulse is too good to keep out). Also, I chose Inquisition to aid agadeem occultist. with the small number of allies in my deck, an opponents creature that costs above 3 is essentially useless to me. again, my meta is currently filled with w/u control and stuff like red deck wins, not too much black going around. I have been switching back and forth between canopy cover and vines...both have their advantages. avenger shall be replacing putrid leech in the sb soon...already decided on that one a while ago lol
thanks for the tip, however I am trying to stay out of locking this deck down with shards cards...and adding another color for one of them may be too much for me lol. I'm looking for ways to make this better while restricting my choices to hte later blocks, and preferably in these 2 colors.
only thing I recommend is Emeria, the sky ruin. being one who also plays allies, I know they are extremely susceptible to mass sweeps and general removal. not only will this reverse that, but you'll get the added bonus of getting the ally boost a second or even more times from the same ally. also allows you to chump block, and then bring him back on your turn, gain life, get bigger, etc.
great combo with overbeing of myth and soul's majesty. I don't really have good knowledge about sets before m10 and zendikar lol, so I apologize about not suggesting anything ...but this looks really solid! I do have one suggestion lol...khalni Hydra
thanks for the comment! I agree with both of you about consuming vapors...hasn't done much for me...some reason I didn't think about discarding lol (fail). like i told gews...my meta is swamped with DoJ, so this has stood out quite well.
yes, this comment does help a greal deal lol. I def agree about consuming vapors...some reason I haven't considered any discard lol...using liliana, I prolly should have :P I ran Putrid leech for a little while, before I had the playsets of venge and bloodghast. I chose to drop them because my meta right now is basically swamped with u/w control (counters, DoJ, etc) having the most recursion possible has helped me up my game...sideboard perhaps? and I def. agree...vines and leech = epic pwnage
lol thanks for the suggestion, but I try to go out of the norm standard. changing this to, essentially, a modern naya deck is just not in my interest.
nice idea! I'll get to testing
lol yea...the one-ofs seem a tad...bad on paper. the deck is actually very solid, I have actually won several local tournaments with this. those little extra cards are mostly just for added fun. which is what I aim for when playing...not just winning lol.
gave your deck an 8 :)
I like it! have you played it at any fnm events? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=82929 this is my G/B deck. feel free to leave a comment!
perhaps a vapor snare or two? fits with the deck and it will give you a constant stream of lands to drop. you would be safe to play more than one due to the atlases. very nice deck!
I am going to have to go with drumhead on this. Its the same as me keeping the 4 gideon. yea I can only have one out at a time, but increasing my chances of having it outweigh the possibility of having a dead card in my hand
switch oakenform with boar umbra
this is an amazing idea lol...I play a 5 color ally deck right now...wish I could pull something like this off. my only suggestion would be to possibly lightly splash another color just to fill those creature slots with allies, but not so much as to take over your mana pool. and with pilgrim's eye and the expedition maps, you could easily pull off 2-4 lands of a different color to play the other allies. being that there are only 4 potential spots available, I would go for the heavy hitters. now choosing a secondary color (if you so choose of course) has got to be your personal preference. any color has that one ally that would either boost this decks style, or offer you an alt. win. my suggestion would be green or red if you wish to stay aggro. 4 kazuul warlords would be pretty brutal. and they only require one red mana (apart from the 4 colorless) and the slightly more hard to cast Turntimber ranger would be a nice addition, but it require 2 forests. for an alt. win, you could go black with hagra diabolist, or blue with halimar excavator. again, this is only if you wish to fill out the remaining creatures with other allies. the deck is great already, good job! ps. for a little look at my ally deck, check out the link! http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=45164
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=75902 standard deck, looking to the future. my first deck was Allies, and that evolved into a 5 color beast that owned almost everything it played, but mostly it was just a fun deck to play. Now I am getting more serious about playing, I have made this deck. any comments are appreciated, any tips, advise, criticisms, etc. exp. 5 I started in zendikar, but learned from people who played for years. I've played a couple tournaments, almost always making top 8. & i'll respond to all comments.
lol crazy mana running around here...honestly i think i would run like 2 fireballs an a mountain or two...just cause
the new white leyline kills this deck even before the game starts. then like that guys said, build up mana to Iona. x4 Iona, Shield of Emeria x4 Leyline of Sanctity (I believe is its name) x52 plains
warp world into a hagra diabolist with any number of allies is usually devastating. for example, a couple lands, a hagra diabolist and 4 other allies hit the board from warp world. because all of the allies see each other enter play, their abilities stack up differently than they would normally. with 5 allies, hagra's ability would trigger 5 loss of life per ally for a total of 25. this guy came up with a formula for it, just scroll down a bit and you'll get the idea :) http://competitivecasual.blogspot.com/2009/11/rethinking-warp-world.html
